BH 91 (10/2024): Moderate though also easily detectible wood is present on the nose of iodine, white flowers and a hint of oyster shell. The markedly finer middleweight flavors exude evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced, nicely dry and impressively long finish that displays the natural class of a fine MdT. As with many of these 2022s, it could use more depth but the style is lovely and understated. Drink starting 2030.
VM 89 (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a fresh nose with grass clippings and Granny Smiths on the nose - a traditional Chablis nose that is well-defined and quite complex. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, taut and fresh, although I would have liked more mineralité on the finish. Almost there… but not quite! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. Drink between 2025-2033. Neal Martin. |

BH 93 (6/2024): (a monopole measuring .62 ha that is actually part of Les Cras.) An all but imperceptible application of wood can be detected on the more floral-suffused aromas of acacia, lilac and citrus confit nose. The vibrant and super-sleek middleweight flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel and excellent concentration before concluding in a stony, bitter lemon-inflected and beautifully persistent finish. This doesn't have the sheer size and weight of the Goutte d'Or but it is noticeably finer. Drink 2030+. Outstanding!
VM 93-95 (1/2024): The 2022 Meursault Clos Richemont 1er Cru is a dense, opulent white built on texture more than anything else. It is one of the most overt wines in the Boillot range. Orange jam, spice, vanillin, lemon confit and baked apple tart infuse the 2022 with tons of textural intensity. This is such a distinctive wine. Neal Martin. |

BH 90 (6/2024): (from 1 ha of evenly mixed vines in Houlières, Charmes, La Rue aux Vaches, Rue Rousseau and Enseignères.) This is aromatically elegant and expressive with its cool and airy array of pretty floral, lemon lime and spice aromas. Once again there is a gorgeous mid-palate texture to the medium weight flavors that are concentrated but attractively vibrant, all wrapped in a complex, dry and sneaky long finish. This is an excellent Puligny villages and worth checking out. Drink 2029+. Outstanding!
VM 88-90 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet is a blend of five domaine parcels spread across the village. A wine of reserve, the Puligny-Montrachet offers a compelling mix of textural richness and vibrancy. Lemon confit, white flowers and light tropical accents open nicely. I would give this at least a year in bottle, maybe more. Neal Martin. |

BH 96 (6/2024): (from Aloxe.) A markedly floral-suffused nose somewhat grudgingly reveals its array of exuberantly fresh and spicy Granny Smith apple, acacia blossom, oyster shell and iodine. While there is certainly good richness to the succulent and seductive broad-shouldered flavors, the mouthfeel is really quite sleek with both good detail and power to the taut, serious and built-to-age finale that is given a bit of lift from the presence of bitter citrus rind. This is almost painfully intense and youthfully austere effort could use better depth but that should present no particular problem if it's given a chance to develop. This too is first-rate. Drink 2034+. Don't miss!
VM 93-95 (1/2024): The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a blend of fruit from Aloxe-Corton (75%) and Pernand-Vergelesses (25%), a combination that works well in giving the wine balance. There's quite a bit of phenolic intensity and youthful austerity here. Herbs, crushed rocks, graphite, mint and citrus confit build nicely. I very much admire the vibrancy here, even if the 2022 remains a bit unyielding today. Neal Martin. |

BH 97 (6/2024): There is a subtle exotic character to the jasmine tea, dried herb, orange peel, anise and eucalyptus-suffused nose. The sleek, precise and borderline painfully intense flavors aren't quite as imposing as the of the Bâtard (see Domaine Boillot) but they are notably finer with seemingly an unending reserve of dry extract that buffers the very firm acid spine on the massively long finish. This is a superb Montrachet to basically buy and forget you own it for at least a decade and it wouldn't surprise me if this beauty needed all of 15 years to reach its full potential. Brilliant. Drink 2034+. Don't miss!
VM 95-97 (1/2024): The 2022 Montrachet Grand Cru, from the Puligny side, is an elegant, energetic white rendered with a light hand. Hints of lemon confit, spice, white flowers, crushed rocks and white pepper infuse the Montrachet with striking aromatic presence. It's all refinement and class in this stylish, wonderfully appealing Montrachet from Henri Boillot. Neal Martin. |

BH 89 (6/2024): A vague whiff of the exotic lurks in the background in the form of orange peel, pear compote and a hint of wet stone reduction. There is both excellent volume and density to the delicious middleweight flavors that exude evident minerality on the balanced, clean and dry finale. This lovely effort could use better depth but the underlying material suggests that should be no problem if given a few years in a cool cellar. Drink 2029+. Outstanding!
VM 90-92 (1/2024): The 2022 Meursault is a rich, opulent white. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and crushed rocks are all amplified. Clean mineral notes extend the finish while also providing a counterpoint to all the textural richness. The Meursault is a blend of parcels (including En Luraule, Petits Charrons, Casse-Têtes, Les Pelles), all estate, high up on the slope. The 25% new oak is nicely judged. Neal Martin. |

| VM 94 (2/2025): The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a gorgeous wine. It is also surprisingly open-knit. Soft contours wrap around a core of apricot, ripe pear, chamomile, marzipan and dried flowers. The 2022 spent 12 months in barrel followed by six months in a combination of mostly stainless steel with some sandstone amphora and larger-format oak. This is an undeniably attractive and engaging wine. Ideally, it would be nice to see a bit more Charlemagne energy. Then again, 2022 was marked by very warm, dry weather and four heat spikes. It will be interesting to see how this develops in bottle. Antonio Galloni. |

BH 89 (6/2025): Pretty, cool and airy aromas of apple, pear, acacia and a whiff of lemon are complemented by delicious, beautifully textured and slightly more concentrated middle weight flavors that possess fine volume, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, clean, dry and well-balanced finale. This is a lovely Puligny villages that is surprisingly powerful. Well worth considering. (Drink starting 2028).
WA 88 (1/2025): Carillon's 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village offers up aromas of sweet orchard fruit, ripe peaches and bread dough, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and generous palate.
VM 87 (1/2025): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village, bottled in March, is very minimalist on the nose. It doesn't deliver the fruit you would think the season would bestow. The palate is balanced with light malic notes. It's a little soft around the edges and this needs more tension on the finish. This is par for the course. (Drink between 2024-2029). Neal Martin. |

VM 93+ (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Fôrets 1er Cru was promising from barrel last year. Now, in bottle, it has held on to that complex, mineral-led bouquet, with hints of chamomile in the background. The palate is very well balanced with a silver thread of acidity, like the Montée de Tonnerre. Quite understated towards the finish, suggesting that this will benefit from a few years in bottle. Plenty of energy, but patience required. Neal Martin.
BH 93 (10/2024): There is ample citrus influence suffusing the nose that could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its array of seashore, algae and oyster shell scents. The caressing but notably denser and more powerful larger-bodied flavors coat the palate while retaining an attractive texture on the strikingly persistent finish that is shaped by bright acidity. This can't match the MdT for refinement but it is presently more complex and should age just as well. |

The sleek, delicious and vibrant, if not super-dense, flavors are rich to the point of opulence while displaying fine power on the bitter lemon rind-inflected finale where the only reproach is a hint of warmth. This should drink well young but also drink well with a few years of bottle age. (Drink starting 2028).

This cuvée includes some Premier Crus, including Combettes, which were not bottled separately this year. It has a winsome nose with mint-tinged citrus fruit that opens with gusto in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a fresh entry. It's spicy with stem ginger and lemongrass towards the lively finish. Maybe it is not the most refined Pouilly-Fuissé, but there is commendable energy in the context of the growing season. (Drink between 2025-2034). Neal Martin. |

BH 89 (6/2024): A more complex nose features notes of citrus confit, green apple and a floral top note along with just enough wood to notice. There is excellent concentration to the sappy and very rich yet focused medium weight flavors that possess a plush mouthfeel, all wrapped in a chalky, youthfully austere and lightly stony finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. This well-made effort should repay 2 to 3 years of keeping. (Drink starting 2026). |

In a sense, it represents the wine that was sacrificed so that the rest of the range can be exceptional. |

BH 95 (6/2024): (from a .17 ha holding in Pougets.) A very fresh, cool and beautifully layered nose freely reveals aromas of acacia blossom, citrus confit and a beautiful array of spice wisps. There is excellent size, weight and mid-palate density to the big-bodied and powerful flavors that culminate in a lemon, very clean and hugely long mineral-driven finale. This muscular effort is a block of stone at present and I would advise not touching a bottle for the first 7 to 8 years. With that said, if you can find it, and intend to cellar it, don't hesitate as this is a knockout of a Corton-Charlemagne. Drink 2034+. Don't miss!
JM 93-95 (10/2023): This is still in barrel, unracked. Pale primrose, the bouquet is less easy to discern at this stage, with a minor oxidative note and some reduction. Put that to one side. On the palate this is classic, with a wealth of white fruit, a mineral underlay, a touch of oak too of course, some power and good length. Should emerge from its cocoon very soundly. |

BH 91 (10/2024): A restrained nose flashes only a touch of exotic character on the spicy aromas of mostly yellow orchard fruit, apple, iodine and a floral top note. The generous but appealingly punchy middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the saliva-inducing, balanced and lingering finale. A few years of keeping should help add complexity. |

It has a very aromatic floral bouquet with mirabelle, jasmine and orchard fruit, with a hint of nougat in the background. Very fine delineation. The palate is taut and crisp on the entry, slightly waxy in texture, and maybe even a little petrol-y in style. It has good depth and crisp acidity but shuts down somewhat towards the finish. BH 95 (6/2024): A ripe yet distinctly cool nose combines notes of citrus confit, spice, Granny Smith apple, white peach and an all but invisible application of wood. The super-sleek but almost painfully intense larger-bodied flavors possess a mouthfeel that is akin to rolling rocks around the mouth on the bone-dry, youthfully austere and compact, indeed very tautly wound, finale that goes on and on. This is terrific and as good a vintage for this wine as I have seen since the 2015 when they began declaring it as Musigny Blanc again. It won't be easy to find but this is one to strongly consider. Drink 2034+.
JM 94-96 (11/2023): Bottled end October. Fine pale lemon colour with a definite green tint. Tense powerful crisp fruit, the crunchy side of orchard fruit, then builds in richness to the back, before rediscovering its minerality to finish. Notably persistent, I can see the point in Musigny Blanc more easily than I used to! |
