BH 91 (10/2024): Moderate though also easily detectible wood is present on the nose of iodine, white flowers and a hint of oyster shell. The markedly finer middleweight flavors exude evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced, nicely dry and impressively long finish that displays the natural class of a fine MdT. As with many of these 2022s, it could use more depth but the style is lovely and understated. Drink starting 2030.
VM 89 (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a fresh nose with grass clippings and Granny Smiths on the nose - a traditional Chablis nose that is well-defined and quite complex. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, taut and fresh, although I would have liked more mineralité on the finish. Almost there… but not quite! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. VM 93-95 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère 1er Cru is one of the most shut down of the whites in this vast range. Mineral and savory notes abound, but fruit is decidedly pushed into the background. Citrus confit, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper all race across the palate. There's quite a bit of youthful austerity at this stage, but this should come together in time. A whole range of complex floral and tropical nuances linger. Neal Martin. |

BH 94 (6/2024): Cool aromas of mostly white flowers and apple are trimmed in an almost pungent minerality, indeed this too is like sniffing wet rocks. The precise and intensely stony middleweight flavors possess a refined mouthfeel that carries over to the precise, youthfully austere and tightly wound finale. This balanced effort is seriously good but also a wine that is going to require extended patience. This is absolutely a wine to look for. Dirnk 2032+. Outstanding!
VM 92-94 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Perrières 1er Cru is a heady explosive wine endowed with tremendous depth and textural intensity. Crushed rocks, mint, graphite, tangerine oil and insistent saline notes all meld together as this potent, driving Puligny makes its presence felt. There is both excellent volume and density to the delicious middleweight flavors that exude evident minerality on the balanced, clean and dry finale. This lovely effort could use better depth but the underlying material suggests that should be no problem if given a few years in a cool cellar. Drink 2029+. Outstanding!
VM 90-92 (1/2024): The 2022 Meursault is a rich, opulent white. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and crushed rocks are all amplified. Clean mineral notes extend the finish while also providing a counterpoint to all the textural richness. The Meursault is a blend of parcels (including En Luraule, Petits Charrons, Casse-Têtes, Les Pelles), all estate, high up on the slope. The 25% new oak is nicely judged. Neal Martin. |

BH 95 (6/2024): An ethereal nose shyly presents its combination of the essence of pear, anise, pretty floral and a touch of mineral reduction. There is a wonderfully refined texture to the almost delicate medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the bright, strikingly long and impeccably well-balanced finale. This is class in a glass and another one to strongly consider. Drink 2030+. Outstanding!
VM 92-94 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes 1er Cru shows the more unctuous side of the village. Apricot, butter, spice and tropical notes all race out of the glass. The Combettes will be enjoyed most by readers who appreciate the more extroverted side of white Burgundy. This fruit came in on August 25 and was the first parcel harvested that year. Neal Martin. |

BH 93 (6/2024): Here too there is a subtle whiff of the exotic on the aromas of petrol, spice and a variety of floral elements. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the solidly concentrated and mineral driven flavors that feel alive on the palate before concluding in a bracing, balanced and bitter lemon-inflected finish. This is also lovely and worth considering plus it should drink well on the younger side if desired. Drink 2029+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! Value Value!
VM 92-94 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is bright, tense and nicely focused. Lemon peel, mint, crushed rocks and white pepper lend notable energy to this wonderfully vibrant, sculpted Puligny. All the elements are so well balanced. Saline notes emerge in the glass, supporting the beautifully persistent finish nicely. This is so attractive. Neal Martin. |

The palate is very well balanced with a silver thread of acidity, like the Montée de Tonnerre. Quite understated towards the finish, suggesting that this will benefit from a few years in bottle. Plenty of energy, but patience required. Neal Martin.

The caressing but notably denser and more powerful larger-bodied flavors coat the palate while retaining an attractive texture on the strikingly persistent finish that is shaped by bright acidity. This can't match the MdT for refinement but it is presently more complex and should age just as well. |

Matured in 50% new oak, the 2022 fulfills the promise I found last year from barrel. It's precise and more mineral-led than the Premiers Jus cuvée. The palate has exquisite balance, with hints of yellow plum, white peach and mango. The 2022 shows impressive density with not a powerful but rather a "voluminous" finish packed full of flavor. BH 90-93 (8/2023): (from 1.18 ha of vines in Montmains proper). A more floral if less citrus-suffused nose freely reveals its combination of ocean breeze, white orchard fruit and shellfish nuances. The rich and very generous yet nicely refined medium weight flavors also exude a subtle stoniness on the clean and slightly drier finish that offers just a bit more depth, at least at present. This too is lovely with fine potential. Drink 2027+. Outstanding! |

There is excellent richness and concentration to the markedly powerful larger-scaled flavors that coat the palate on the overtly stony, dry and compact finale. At least moderate patience will be required as this is pretty tightly wound. Drink 2034+.
VM 94+ (8/2024): he 2022 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a surprisingly austere bouquet that demands some coaxing from the glass. At the moment, it is outperformed by the Valmur. The palate is fresh and saline, with wonderful acidity, touches of peach and Clementine towards its graceful finish. Long and tender. I would give this time in bottle for the aromatics to open. (Drink between 2028-2046.) |

| BH 95 (6/2024): A ripe yet distinctly cool nose combines notes of citrus confit, spice, Granny Smith apple, white peach and an all but invisible application of wood. The super-sleek but almost painfully intense larger-bodied flavors possess a mouthfeel that is akin to rolling rocks around the mouth on the bone-dry, youthfully austere and compact, indeed very tautly wound, finale that goes on and on. This is terrific and as good a vintage for this wine as I have seen since the 2015 when they began declaring it as Musigny Blanc again. It won't be easy to find but this is one to strongly consider. Drink 2034+. |
