VM 86 (8/2024): From the youngest vines plus the pressed juices from other appellations, the 2022 Bourgogne Jeane Vignes et Derniers Jus was vinified in concrete for this cuvée. This has a light, floral bouquet with touches of yellow fruit. The palate is well-balanced with good weight. It's simple, with a touch of sour lemon on the short finish. (Drink between 2024-2028). Neal Martin.
WA 86 (11/2024): Produced from the later press fractions of all the domaine's wines, which are higher in pH and lower in acidity, the 2022 Bourgogne Jeunes Vignes et Derniers Jus offers up leesy aromas of apple compote and sourdough bread, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and fat palate. In a sense, it represents the wine that was sacrificed so that the rest of the range can be exceptional. |

VM 90 (8/2024): The 2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos En Crazy comes from the first juices from the lower parts of En Crazy plus second press juices of the better parcels. Matured mostly in wood, 20% in concrete, this has a pretty and pure bouquet with white peaches and touches of nectarine and wet wool. The palate is taut and fresh, with a fine bead of acidity. The 2022 is saline towards the finish, so you are itching for the next sip. Recommended. (Drink between 2024-2033) Neal Martin.
WA 89 (11/2024): Open and expressive, the 2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos En Crazy bursts with aromas of peach, pineapple and mandarin, mingled with hints of toasted hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, charming and textural, it will drink well on release.
BH 86 (10/2024): Notes of exotic fruit, lemon zest and a background touch of reduction give way to bigger and richer flavors that also display an off taste that I can only describe as having a dish soap character. Again, it's hard to say whether a year or two of bottle aging would help but I doubt it. (Drink starting 2024). |
