BH 89-91 (6/2021): Firm reduction presently dominates the nose though I suspect that it won't last. There is again fine richness to the appealing textured and vibrant flavors that also conclude in a clean, refreshingly dry and very lemony finale. This is sufficiently forward that it could be enjoyed on the younger side, yet it should also be capable of rewarding several years of cellaring as well. (Drink starting 2024).
WA 89-91 (1/2021): Aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, citrus zest and fresh peach, framed by a light touch of youthful reduction, introduce d'Angerville's 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots, a medium to full-bodied, tightly wound wine that was quite reserved when I tasted it. I suspect that, in bottle, it will show all the plenitude that one expects from this site in a warm vintage, but it's also promisingly bright and precise.
VM 88-90 (12/2020): The 2019 Meursault Santenots 1er Cru, aged for 12 months in barrel and racked into stainless steel on the lees, comes across a little laconic and backward on the nose with light smoke and beeswax aromas. The palate is better with good weight and concentration on the entry. Touches of dried honey and a little brioche, fresh, if uncomplicated compared to the Volnays. I think this was just a little reduced at the time of my tasting. |

| VM 92-94 (12/2020): A blend of two parcels, the 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru was the first to be picked by Bouchard in this appellation. The well-defined bouquet features touches of lemon thyme, walnut and smoke. The palate is balanced with fine acidity, fresh and focused. The pretty, apricot-tinged finish fans out wonderfully and leaves residues of grilled almond and sesame on the aftertaste. Excellent. Neal Martin. |

The powerful, rich and voluminous big-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate density that coats the palate with sap before concluding in an austere, long and vaguely rustic finale. This is an imposing Bougros that should age effortlessly over the next decade plus. Drink 2029+.
JS 94 (6/2021): Aromas of aniseed and lemon rind with dried apple and pear follow through to a full body. Yet, it’s tight and layered with a compact palate and plenty of fruit. Needs time to open. Try after 2023.
WA 93+ (8/2021): Aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, clear honey, peach, mint and buttery pastry introduce the 2019 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros, a full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine that's one of the more textural, dramatic wines in the range. Unusually deep and concentrated, its immediate, charming profile belies considerable aging potential this year. |

The racy, detailed and beautifully textured and focused flavors deliver outstanding length on the balanced, saliva-inducing and sneaky long finish. WA 93 (1/2022): The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle (Duc de Magenta) is another success, offering up aromas of crisp stone fruit, orange oil, buttered toast, struck flint and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, deep and complete, it's a satiny, layered, textural wine, with bright acids and a long, expansive finish.
VM 92 (12/2023): The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle 1er Cru has a slightly simpler nose than its peers with orange blossom, Conference pear and light beeswax aromas. The palate is sapid on the entry. There are a few more solids in this Chassagne-Montrachet compared to its peers, but it retains admirable balance. I appreciate the lingering pepperiness on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2024-2040). Neal Martin. |

Here too the wood influence is discreet and easily allows the ripe and airy aromas of apple, pear, olive oil and citrus elements to shine. There is excellent punch and an almost pungent minerality on the youthfully austere and firm finish that exhibits lovely balance. This is a bigger but not finer wine than the Tillets and is also lovely. Drink 2027+. Outstanding Top Value! |

VM 93+ (10/2021): The 2019 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru presents an intense bouquet of fresh mint, dill and crushed stone aromas. The palate is very concentrated, dense and weighty, with a slightly more viscous texture than the Butteaux. Notes of dried honey, stem ginger and a pinch of white pepper appear on the finish. WA 94 (7/2022): Unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, nutmeg, fresh hazelnuts and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of youthful reduction, the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with a ripe and fleshy core of fruit that's underpinned by racy acids and chalky structure. As in 2020, the Montée de Tonnerre is something of a baby Clos. |
