WA 91-92 (6/2004): The 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques, from a vineyard located just north of Musigny, offers a nose of deep black cherries intermingled with licorice and violets. Light to medium-bodied and detailed, this is a pure, precise wine with grapy, floral flavors. It is gracefully strewn and possesses loads of fruit. Drink it over the next 10-11 years. VM 90+ (4/2005): North Berkeley cuvee Good, bright red. Serious, complex nose melds raspberry, smoke, minerals and rose petal. Densely packed, sappy and juicy, with tangy flavors of wild red berries, flowers and minerals. Suave, firm and nicely delineated. Finishes tight and firmly tannic. Very Chambolle! BH 88-90 (1/2004): Some reduction on the nose makes reading this difficult. The flavors though are rich, full-bodied and sweet and culminate in a dusty, intense and complex finish. Lovely juice with good potential. Drink 2008-14. |

WA 91-92 (6/2004): Violets and black cherries are found in the nose of the lush, soft 2002 Morey-St.-Denis Les Ruchots. This sensual, medium-bodied wine offers sexy layers of sweet red cherries. It is pure, seductive, and sports a long, opulent, fruit-packed finish. VM 89-92 (3/2004): Good full ruby. Complex nose combines blackberry, leather, pepper, mint and bitter chocolate. Juicy, bright and gripping, with sharply delineated blackberry and floral flavors. Fine, horizontal tannins spread out to coat the entire palate. The note of bitter chocolate carries through to the finish. Stephen Tanzer. |

VM 90-92 (3/2008): Good red-ruby. Candied raspberry, cherry, rose petal and spices on the nose. Sweet, floral red fruit flavors boast lovely intensity, with bright acidity giving the wine focus and penetration. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins. Serious juice. Stephen Tanzer. BH 90-93 (1/2008): A very ripe and seductive spicy black fruit nose complements the supple, rich and velvety flavors that coat the mouth with sap and culminate in a highly complex and gorgeously long finish. This is very Vosne and this would make a fine example to introduce neophytes to what sets Vosne apart from all the other pinot regions in the world. Impressive and recommended. |
