| |
| JD 96 (8/2025): The 2023 Chardonnay Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is a bright, golden yellow color and offers tropical notes of pineapple, fresh peach, citrus custard, and hints of corn kernels. The palate is full and fleshy, with a long, structured finish. I love the refreshing nature of this wine and its bright spine of acidity. Drink 2025-2040. Audrey Frick. |

BH 91-93 (10/2024): Enough wood to merit mentioning surrounds the sightly riper if otherwise similar nose. The old vines are very much in evidence as there is an abundance of sappy dry extract adding a sense of volume and density to the larger-bodied flavors that possess slightly better depth. While this too could easily be enjoyed young, it should effortlessly repay up to a decade of keeping. (91-93)/2031+. JM 91 (6/2025): In bottle. Fuller lemon yellow, and more of a wood effect on the nose, which currently damps down the detail. White fruit begins to emerge and there is considerable flesh on the palate. A slightly tighter wine at the finish than through the middle, and certainly persistent. Drink from 2026-2030. |

BH 90-93 (10/2024): A discreet though easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off overtly floral-suffused aromas of sea breeze and lemon zest. Here too the palate impression of the medium-bodied flavors is seductive and delicious with more evident minerality also adding a sense of lift to the balanced, sneaky long and saliva-inducing finale. This is also lovely and worth a look. (Drink starting 2029). JM 91 (6/2025): Bottled in March 2025. Pale colour with a green streak. Not finding much bouquet as yet. Another understated but very refined wine, perhaps the hallmark of biodynamics. The best part is the length of the finish. Drink from 2026-2032. |

BH 92-94 (10/2022): (from a 2-ha parcel of very old vines - Bessin is not exactly sure how old they are but claims they are the Domaine's oldest; 20% of the blend was vinified in oak.) Firm reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose. Otherwise, there is superb intensity to the mineral-driven, dense and overtly powerful larger-scaled flavors that conclude in a chiseled, palate staining and beautifully long finale. This overtly salty effort is packed with development potential and should easily reward a decade plus of keeping. Strongly worth considering. Drink 2031+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! JM 92-94 (6/2022): Clear pale colour, with very little nose as yet. There is plenty of energy here on the palate, with a rich level of white fruit behind, not yet ready to show the detail, but certainly indicating promise, and a very long finish. Just the tank component in the sample. Drink from 2026-2030. |

BH 91-94 (10/2024): Firm reduction renders an evaluation of the nose impossible today. More interesting are the fresh, impressively dense, especially for the vintage, and powerful larger-scaled flavors that also brim with sappy dry extract on the palate soaking, youthfully austere and tightly wound finale. This is very promising and a wine that should amply repay a decade, perhaps even a bit more, of keeping. (Drink starting 2033). JM 93 (6/2025): In bottle (with a little more to follow). Fairly pale in colour with a powerful but undeveloped bouquet. White fruit with just a hint of greengage. Powerful wine as well on the palate. The finish will doubtless develop even further with age. Drink from 2029-2035. |

BH 91 (10/2024): Moderate though also easily detectible wood is present on the nose of iodine, white flowers and a hint of oyster shell. The markedly finer middleweight flavors exude evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced, nicely dry and impressively long finish that displays the natural class of a fine MdT. As with many of these 2022s, it could use more depth but the style is lovely and understated. Drink starting 2030. VM 89 (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a fresh nose with grass clippings and Granny Smiths on the nose - a traditional Chablis nose that is well-defined and quite complex. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, taut and fresh, although I would have liked more mineralité on the finish. Almost there… but not quite! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. Drink between 2025-2033. Neal Martin. |

| BH 93 (6/2021): (a monopole measuring .62 ha that is actually part of Les Cras). Here the equally complex nose flirts with exoticism with its intensely floral aromas of both white and yellow peach and apricot. The intense and slightly bigger-bodied flavors possess excellent volume and evident power while flashing a really lovely texture, all wrapped in a hugely long and stony finale. This isn’t as refined as the Genevrières but there is even better depth. Drink 2031+. |

BH 93 (6/2024): (a monopole measuring .62 ha that is actually part of Les Cras.) An all but imperceptible application of wood can be detected on the more floral-suffused aromas of acacia, lilac and citrus confit nose. The vibrant and super-sleek middleweight flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel and excellent concentration before concluding in a stony, bitter lemon-inflected and beautifully persistent finish. This doesn't have the sheer size and weight of the Goutte d'Or but it is noticeably finer. Drink 2030+. Outstanding! VM 93-95 (1/2024): The 2022 Meursault Clos Richemont 1er Cru is a dense, opulent white built on texture more than anything else. It is one of the most overt wines in the Boillot range. Orange jam, spice, vanillin, lemon confit and baked apple tart infuse the 2022 with tons of textural intensity. This is such a distinctive wine. Neal Martin. |

| JM 93-95 (10/2024): A fine even lemon yellow. Racy on the nose, not as immediately distinguished as Goutte d’Or but the qualities creep up on you. More linear, a suggestion of salinity., with layers of a pure limestone white fruit, plenty of dry extract affirms Henri Boillot. Very persistent. Drink from 2030-2036. |

BH 93 (1/2023): A slightly riper though almost as elegant nose combines notes of petrol and citrus with those of acacia, mineral reduction and crushed fennel. There is more volume and richness to the less prominently stony flavors that possess a highly seductive mouthfeel, all wrapped in a superbly long finish. This isn't quite as refined as the Genevrières but it's even more complex. I would observe that while the two wines are qualitative equals, they offer two very different expressions. (Drink starting 2029). JM 93-95 (10/2022): The terroir is made up of small stones in red soil, quite similar to Caillerets. Clean pretty pale primrose, with a brilliant tensile concentration through the middle, not very Meursault this terroir but extremely persistent and makes Genevrières alongside seem a bit massive. Very impressive in its linear style. Drink from 2026-2032. |

BH 93 (6/2020): Naturally exotic and overtly spicy aromas include whiffs of jasmine tea, lemongrass and apple compote. The wonderfully refined and subtly stony middle weight flavors are at once intense yet delicate, all wrapped in a Zen-like finish. This is really lovely stuff and so well-balanced it should age effortlessly. Drink 2028+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! WA 93 (1/2020): The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières reveals aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, peach, spring blossom, honeycomb and praline, followed by a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated palate that's chalky and structured, built around lively acids and appreciable dry extract. |

WA 90-92 (1/2019): Derived from the superior lieux-dits of Les Houlières, La Rousselle, Les Charmes and Les Enseignères, Boillot's 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village exhibits pretty aromas of lemons, white peach, fresh pastry, blanched almonds and honeycomb. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, with succulent acids and a saline finish. VM 89-91 (9/2018): Bright yellow-green color. Inviting aromas of white peach, flowers and noble herbs. Broad, round and dry, with its pure stone fruit flavors lifted by floral and spicy elements. A classy, classic Puligny villageswith a dry, saline back end. Stephen Tanzer. |

| BH 91 (6/2022): (from 1 ha of evenly mixed vines in Houlières, Charmes, La Rue aux Vaches, Rue Rousseau and Enseignères.) A subtle but not invisible application of wood sets off cool aromas of various flowers, pear, apple and orange peel. There is very good volume to the succulent, intense and agreeably textured flavors that culminate in a bone-dry, palate coating and lingering finale where a hint of youthful austere slowly emerges. This is a very impressive and age worthy Puligny villages. Drink 2027+. |

BH 90 (6/2024): (from 1 ha of evenly mixed vines in Houlières, Charmes, La Rue aux Vaches, Rue Rousseau and Enseignères.) This is aromatically elegant and expressive with its cool and airy array of pretty floral, lemon lime and spice aromas. Once again there is a gorgeous mid-palate texture to the medium weight flavors that are concentrated but attractively vibrant, all wrapped in a complex, dry and sneaky long finish. This is an excellent Puligny villages and worth checking out. Drink 2029+. Outstanding! VM 88-90 (1/2024): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet is a blend of five domaine parcels spread across the village. A wine of reserve, the Puligny-Montrachet offers a compelling mix of textural richness and vibrancy. Lemon confit, white flowers and light tropical accents open nicely. I would give this at least a year in bottle, maybe more. Neal Martin. |

BH 90 (6/2025): An exuberantly floral-suffused nose speaks of the essence of pear, apple and just sliced lemon. This mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is really quite sleek with fine delineation and a subtle minerality adding a sense of lift to the youthfully austere finale. This lovely and balanced effort could use better depth so plan on at least a few years of bottle aging. (Drink starting 2029). JM 89-91 (10/2024): From Charmes, Houlières, Enseignères, Rue Rousseau and Rue aux Vaches. 20% new wood. Mid lemon yellow. Reductive. Starts discreetly, then builds in intensity, as always more linear than the Meursault, with a fair length of finish. Drink from 2028-2032. VM 87-89 (2/2025): Boillot’s 2023 Puligny-Montrachet is a fairly straightforward, easygoing wine. Floral top notes, spice and a touch of tropical fruit open nicely. All this needs is a bit more depth in the mid-palate, something that seems missing here but is evident in many other wines, including the village Meursault. (Drink between 2025-2029). Antonio Galloni. |

BH 95 (7/2017): Smoky broad-ranging aromas are composed primarily of various white orchard fruit, acacia blossom, citrus rind, wood and a hint of exotic tea. There is an abundance of dry extract that imparts a sappy character to the concentrated, mineral-driven and wonderfully complex flavors that also display a hint of mandarin orange on the strikingly long finish that is Zen-like in its harmony. In a word, fantastic. (Drink starting 2023). WA 94 (4/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère, Boillot's emblematic cuvée, is one of the highlights of the range in 2015, opening in the glass with notes of struck flint, white peach, nutmeg and crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, powerful and intense, with great energy and tension at the core, its long finish concluding with chalky grip. More vertical than the expansive Pucelles, this is the most tensile premier cru in the cellar in 2015. VM 92 (11/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère 1er Cru is showing quite noticeable reduction on the nose, although there seems to be sufficient fruit underneath. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, and quite reduced like the nose, but it conveys a sense of energy, unlike the Les Perrières from François Carillon tasted alongside. There is a pleasing saltiness and slight nuttiness on the finish that bodes well for the future. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2020-2035). Neal Martin. |

BH 96 (6/2018): ( from 60+ year old vines and the vineyard is a whopping 4 ha monopole within Perrières.) A highly restrained nose requires considerable swirling to liberate the beautifully well-layered aromas of mineral reduction, white rose, spice, citrus and a wisp of exotic tea. Like the Pucelles there is excellent richness and detail and much more minerality-suffusing the almost painfully intense finale that is breathtaking in its persistence. This is a gem of a Puligny 1er and in 2016 is a lovely blend of power and finesse. In sum, this is a knockout. Drink 2028+. Don't miss! Outstanding! VM 93-95 (9/2017): (13.3% alcohol with 4.5 grams per liter acidity; cropped at 38 hectoliters per hectare, from vines up to 80 years of age): Bright light-medium yellow. Utterly pure scents of stone fruits, apricot, nuts and honeysuckle. Rich, deep, silky and moderately saline but also powerful and backward, displaying terrific precision and purity in the mouth. A superb, classic Clos de la Mouchère: utterly plush and seamless without being heavy or over the top. Boillot noted that he will slowly replant these very old vines in a series of tranches over the next 15 to 25 years. Stephen Tanzer. |

VM 94 (8/2021): The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère 1er Cru has a light bouquet of undergrowth and wet pavement, a little subdued at first but finding its voice with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and there is some beautifully integrated oak here. Harmonious and poised with wonderful weight and precision toward the finish, where veins of white peach furnish the seductive aftertaste. Absolutely delicious. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune. (Drink between 2023-2042). Neal Martin. BH 93 (7/2022): A touch of mineral reduction can be found on the markedly floral-inflected nose of white peach, spice and discreet wood nuances. There is first-rate volume to the caressing yet powerful flavors that possess excellent mid-palate density before concluding in an energetic and well-balanced finale. This isn't especially complex at present so I would suggest holding it for another 4 to 6 years first. Lovely. Tried twice since release with consistent notes. (Drink starting 2027). |

Once again, the mid-palate mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors is absolutely gorgeous, which contrasts noticeably with the cuts-like-a-knife finish that remains ultra-refined, balanced and persistent. BH 93 (6/2020): A touch of unabsorbed SO2 doesn't seriously detract from the pretty, airy and nicely layered aromas of apple, pear and white flower scents. The super-sleek, intense and mineral-driven medium weight flavors possess excellent verve and cut, all wrapped in a strikingly long, balanced and built-to-age finish. This is excellent and should also age effortlessly for a decade plus. Drink 2028+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! WA 93 (1/2020): Aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, blanched almonds and crushed chalk preface the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières, a medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive wine that's chalky and tensile, with lively acids and a saline finish. BH 91 (6/2014): White orchard fruit and the hallmark honeysuckle scents give way to punchy and impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a highly refined mouth feel if not the sheer depth of the Clos de la Mouchère. To be sure this is a lovely wine that could aptly be described as notably bigger and more powerful than is typical for Pucelles. Drink 2018+. Outstanding! VM 92-95 (10/2013): Green-tinged medium yellow. Ripe stone fruits, pear, honey and hazelnut on the inviting nose and palate. Fat, rich and chewy; this extract-rich wine boasts terrific solidity and depth of fruit. Finishes with Outstanding force and length. Has the palate presence of a grand cru. (Incidentally, there's no Folatieres in 2012; Boillot only made his domain bottlings from Puligny-Montrachet.) |

BH 94 (6/2017): A beautifully layered nose combines notes of honeysuckle, citrus, sandalwood and spiced pear. The dense, serious and surprisingly powerful flavors possess a gorgeous mouth feel while delivering positively huge length on the wonderfully persistent finish. I really like the texture and this is a picture perfect rendition of the vineyard. (Drink starting 2023). WA 93 (4/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles is superb, wafting from the glass with notes of yellow stone fruit, iodine and noble reduction—its bouquet more reserved than the Perrières and Combettes which preceded it in our tasting. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and elegantly glossy, with grand cru depth and dimension, sustained by superb cut and tension. |

WA 94 (1/2020): Boillot's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles reveals aromas of orange oil, white flowers and peaches, complemented by classy top notes of nutmeg and warm bread. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and vibrant, with quite a tensile, tight-knit core for this typically enveloping premier cru. But looking back through my notes, that often seems to be the case chez Boillot. BH 92 (6/2020): Here too there is a touch of residual SO2 that may require decanting so that the elegant aromas of honeysuckle, acacia, lilac and poached pear aromas can be appreciated. There is a bit more volume if not quite the same minerality and precision to the beautifully textured flavors that are quite seductive before concluding in a delicious if mildly sweet and warm finish. This is lovely but doesn't possess the class and distinction of the Perrières or Clos de la Mouchère. Drink 2026+. Outstanding! |

WA 94-96 (8/2012): The 2011 Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet is built on a fabric of exquisite textural finesse and elegance. The Bienvenues is a bit less overt in its bouquet than the Criots, but richer, deeper and more seamless in its fruit. Here, too, it is the wine’s sheer pedigree that stands out most. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. BH 94 (6/2013): This is also notably ripe but the aromas do not run to the exotic as the honeysuckle, apricot, white peach and subtle spice notes are entirely classic. There is an appealing succulence to the delicious, intense and strikingly fine medium-bodied flavors and while there is certainly a sense of focused power present on the long, clean and refined finish, this is essentially a Bienvenues of finesse. Drink 2021+. Don't miss! VM 92-95 (9/2012): Bright yellow. Vibrant nose combines smoke, honey and sexy minerality. More concentrated and sweet than the Criots but with the verve--not to mention the saline density--of Boillot's Pucelles. Lovely creamy old-viney texture and length. The minerally finish leaves the taste buds quivering. |

| BH 87 (6/2022): (85% from Meursault and Puligny Bourgogne vines and the rest from declassified St. Romain and Auxey-Duresses in equal proportions). A smoky mix of apple, pear and citrus leads to solidly voluminous and intense middle weight flavors that conclude in an appealingly crisp, clean and very dry finale. This is a very good Bourgogne that should also be capable of repaying a few years of keeping if desired. Drink 2024+. |

| BH 96 (6/2022): (from Ladoix, Pernand and Aloxe). Subtle notes of mineral reduction and wood toast can be found on the aromas of green apple, clove and white flowers. The wonderfully intense, focused and muscular large-scaled flavors brim with both dry extract and an almost aggressively minerality on the markedly dry but not really austere finale. Like the Chevalier and Montrachet, this beauty of a Corton-Charlemagne is presently very tightly wound and is going to need extended patience to arrive at its peak. This too should be gorgeous in time. Drink 2032+. |

BH 96 (6/2024): (from Aloxe.) A markedly floral-suffused nose somewhat grudgingly reveals its array of exuberantly fresh and spicy Granny Smith apple, acacia blossom, oyster shell and iodine. While there is certainly good richness to the succulent and seductive broad-shouldered flavors, the mouthfeel is really quite sleek with both good detail and power to the taut, serious and built-to-age finale that is given a bit of lift from the presence of bitter citrus rind. This is almost painfully intense and youthfully austere effort could use better depth but that should present no particular problem if it's given a chance to develop. This too is first-rate. Drink 2034+. Don't miss! VM 93-95 (1/2024): The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a blend of fruit from Aloxe-Corton (75%) and Pernand-Vergelesses (25%), a combination that works well in giving the wine balance. There's quite a bit of phenolic intensity and youthful austerity here. Herbs, crushed rocks, graphite, mint and citrus confit build nicely. I very much admire the vibrancy here, even if the 2022 remains a bit unyielding today. Neal Martin. |

| JM 94-97 (10/2024): A paler colour, also beautifully done, with little stones infusing the bouquet. “This is far from being ridiculous” suggests Henri. A wonderful thread. The oak is a touch more marked, an iron backbone yet with some delicacy to the fruit, fresh apple, a little citrus, some pear as well, and all a harmonious whole. Really well done. WA 94-96 (8/2012): Henri Boillot’s 2011 Criots-Batard-Montrachet has all the grace of a ballerina. Intensely sweet, honeyed layers of perfumed fruit flow effortlessly across the palate. The Criots boasts gorgeous inner richness and fragrance, but no sense of heaviness at all. This is a dazzling effort. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. BH 93 (6/2013): This is notably riper than the Caillerets with overtly exotic dried yellow fruit, spice and floral aromas. There is Outstanding richness to the powerful and broad-shouldered flavors that possess a distinctly muscular mouth feel before culminating in an opulent, clean and very dry finish. This retains a fine sense of balance and while there is certainly fine complexity, it isn't at the same level as displayed by the other grands crus in the range. Drink 2019+. VM 91-93 (9/2012): Bright yellow-green. Aromas of pink grapefruit, herbs and peppery spices. Tightly wound and on the lean side, with good punch to the citrus flavors but distinctly lighter than the preceding premier crus from Puligny-Montrachet. Juicy for the vintage but a tad dry on the end. I don't find grand cru weight here. |

| VM 90-93 (9/2015): (these south-facing vines were picked first, on September 10): Pale, bright yellow. Musky ripe peach and noble herbs on the nose; this wine is actually the highest in volatile acidity of the range, but still a fairly low 0.4 grams per liter. Fat, sweet and large-scaled but without the precision of the Clos de la Mouchère. Finishes salty and a touch dry. This may be a bit less fresh because I tasted it from a 228-liter barrique, rather than from a larger barrel. |

BH 94 (6/2017): There is a whisper of the exotic to the riper aromas that also possess admirable purity if noticeably less elegance. The succulent, powerful and dense big-bodied flavors once again coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the balanced and harmonious finale. While this isn't an elegant wine per se (Criots rarely is), it is more refined than it usually is. Drink 2025+. Don't miss! VM 91-94 (9/2016): (two-thirds new oak): Bright yellow. Sweet aromas of yellow peach and spicy oak. Sweet, plush and full but not heavy, offering thick, concentrated yellow peach and oak flavors complicated by a saline quality. BH 93 (6/2020): Once again there is a discreet whiff of exotic fruit to the white peach, spiced tea and dried yellow fruit aromas where a background hint of viognier creeps in. The caressing and unusually sleek medium-bodied flavors possess fine volume and focused power on the caressing and refreshingly saline-inflected finish. This is particularly good in the context of a very hot and dry vintage which is not usually especially propitious for Criots. Drink 2028+. WA 94 (1/2020): Aromas of orange oil, honeycomb, ripe pears, wheat toast and paraffin wax introduce the 2018 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, ample and textural wine that's fleshy and enveloping but underpinned by an impressively chalky structure that brings unusual tension and grip to this inherently generous terroir. |

VM 95-98 (9/2018): Pale yellow. Wonderfully delicate and discreet on the nose, hinting at lemon drop and minerals; Boillot says he's normally the first to harvest in Montrachet and this wine certainly conveys an early-picked aspect. Pure and silky on the palate and thicker than the Chevalier-Montrachet, but with terrific inner-mouth cut. Displays impeccable balance on the very suave, slowly rising finish. Can a wine be both understated and explosive? "Two thousand seventeen is a real fruit year," says Boillot, and in fact this citrussy, floral Montrachet is not yet showing the site's iodiney minerality. But that will come. Stephen Tanzer. WA 93-96 (1/2019): The 2017 Montrachet Grand Cru is among the most reserved wines in the cellar, unfurling in the glass with a reticent bouquet of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and light reduction that wasn't revealing its full range when I tasted it. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and concentrated, with broad shoulders and evident power, concluding with a stony finish, but the full extent of its quality is hard to read. |

| BH 97 (6/2021): (from Puligny fruit). Interestingly, here the nose resembles a grand cru Chablis with its oyster shell, iodine, quinine, lemon-lime and bee’s wax-scented nose. There is outstanding volume and concentration to the overtly powerful and muscular flavors that are supported by a citrus-tinged and markedly firm acid spine that also shapes the cuts-like-a-knife finale. As the length of my initial projected drinking window suggests, it would be pointless to open this beauty before it has at least a decade of aging as it should easily repay two of them. In sum, this is quite simply stunningly good. Drink 2039+. |

BH 97 (6/2024): There is a subtle exotic character to the jasmine tea, dried herb, orange peel, anise and eucalyptus-suffused nose. The sleek, precise and borderline painfully intense flavors aren't quite as imposing as the of the Bâtard (see Domaine Boillot) but they are notably finer with seemingly an unending reserve of dry extract that buffers the very firm acid spine on the massively long finish. This is a superb Montrachet to basically buy and forget you own it for at least a decade and it wouldn't surprise me if this beauty needed all of 15 years to reach its full potential. Brilliant. Drink 2034+. Don't miss! VM 95-97 (1/2024): The 2022 Montrachet Grand Cru, from the Puligny side, is an elegant, energetic white rendered with a light hand. Hints of lemon confit, spice, white flowers, crushed rocks and white pepper infuse the Montrachet with striking aromatic presence. It's all refinement and class in this stylish, wonderfully appealing Montrachet from Henri Boillot. Neal Martin. |

BH 89 (6/2024): A vague whiff of the exotic lurks in the background in the form of orange peel, pear compote and a hint of wet stone reduction. There is both excellent volume and density to the delicious middleweight flavors that exude evident minerality on the balanced, clean and dry finale. This lovely effort could use better depth but the underlying material suggests that should be no problem if given a few years in a cool cellar. Drink 2029+. Outstanding! VM 90-92 (1/2024): The 2022 Meursault is a rich, opulent white. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and crushed rocks are all amplified. Clean mineral notes extend the finish while also providing a counterpoint to all the textural richness. The Meursault is a blend of parcels (including En Luraule, Petits Charrons, Casse-Têtes, Les Pelles), all estate, high up on the slope. The 25% new oak is nicely judged. Neal Martin. |

Fuller white fruit on the palate, the colour and nose will be cleaned up before bottling. A touch of bacon fat. More complicated to taste today. Given Henri Boillot’s track record I would expect this to be sorted before bottling, and thus to rate higher than today’s verdict. Drink from 2029-2033. |

| VM 94 (2/2025): The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a gorgeous wine. It is also surprisingly open-knit. Soft contours wrap around a core of apricot, ripe pear, chamomile, marzipan and dried flowers. The 2022 spent 12 months in barrel followed by six months in a combination of mostly stainless steel with some sandstone amphora and larger-format oak. This is an undeniably attractive and engaging wine. Ideally, it would be nice to see a bit more Charlemagne energy. Then again, 2022 was marked by very warm, dry weather and four heat spikes. It will be interesting to see how this develops in bottle. Antonio Galloni. |

VM 95 (10/2020): The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a powerful, dense wine. It possesses tremendous richness and tons of intensity. Radiance and phenolic intensity are two of the signatures. That's about all I can tell you, as the 2015 is nowhere near ready to drink. It does have tremendous potential though, that is clear. (Drink between 2025-2035). Antonio Galloni. BH 93 (9/2023): This is exceptionally fresh in the context of the ripe 2015 vintage and a wine that is maturing nicely with its evidently cool aromas of white peach, passion fruit and citrus confit where a hint of secondary fruit lurks in the background. The relatively sleek and solidly concentrated middle weight plus flavors possess both fine volume and richness while exhibiting first-rate length on the stony, mildly austere, lemony and agreeably dry finale. This is clearly still on the way up and while it could easily be enjoyed now, I would hold in the hopes of obtaining more overall depth. Tasted twice in the last year with consistent results (and no premox). (Drink starting 2025). WA 93 (4/2018): The 2015 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru from Bonneau du Martray reveals a youthful nose of citrus zest, white flowers, tart pineapple and struck flint, framed by some spicy new oak. On the palate, this full-bodied wine reveals tension and definition that it seemed to miss in barrel, its glossy attack now backed by a nicely chalky structure and a deep, properly reserved core. This will need some time in the bottle to integrate, but its evolution is very promising, and while this is unusually rich and concentrated those qualities don't come at the expense of terroir. |

JM 95 (5/2022): Pale lemon and lime colour. A vigorous nose with a stony reduction, that allows the fruit to flourish alongside. Some citrus, then a really intense weight of fruit, on the cusp of white and yellow. Very pure, very linear, plenty of energy. Excellent texture on the palate. VM 93 (11/2022): The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a reductive nose but there is some fine fruit here, touches of orange pith, honeysuckle and melted candle wax. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a hint of wood to be subsumed on the entry, impressive depth with a slightly toasty finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. (Drink between 2024-2035.) Neal Martin. BH 93 (9/2023): A ripe yet attractively fresh, cool, pure and elegant nose combines notes of various white fleshed fruit scents that in particular include Granny Smith and pear, along with hints of citrus and wet stone. There is excellent intensity as well as fine richness to the detailed and mineral-driven flavors where the minerality adds a sense of lift to the complex and sneaky long finale. While indisputably young, it's not so backward that it couldn't be approached now even though a few more years of keeping should help to add better depth. (Drink starting 2026.) |

BH 93-96 (1/2023): Firm reduction renders the nose tough to evaluate though there is both fine freshness and verve to the impressively dense yet well detailed larger-bodied flavors that terminate in a clean, dry and strikingly long finish that is already displaying outstanding depth. This is potentially a knockout as it is seriously good though I underscore that at least moderate patience will be necessary. (Drink starting 2033). WA 93-95 (1/2023): Cropped at a mere eight hectoliters per hectare after being hit by the April frosts and then challenged by severe disease pressure, the 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has nevertheless turned out beautifully, offering up aromas of tangerine oil, crisp stone fruit, clear honey, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with terrific depth at the core, tangy acids and a precise, saline finish, it will only gain with further élevage. |

VM 95-97 (12/2021): The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru, which was undergoing its élevage in foudres, has a very sophisticated bouquet with mineral-rich citrus fruit, hints of hazelnut and lanolin. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity. There is a little more density and concentration compared to the regular Chevalier-Montrachet and though there is a patina of oak to be subsumed, this will surely age with style. Excellent. (Readers should note that no 2021 will be produced due to frost and there will just be a tiny amount of Chevalier-Montrachet.) (Drink between 2025-2050). Neal Martin. WA 95-97 (1/2022): The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru is brilliant, bursting with aromas of orange oil, nutmeg, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and peach. Full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it's layered and multidimensional, with striking depth and intensity, concluding with a long, resonant finish. It's a brilliant wine in the making. |

| BH 94 (6/2016): (from a huge 3.65 ha plot in Le Corton.) Mild notes of wood and reduction mask the underlying fruit though I can say that it appears to be ripe. Otherwise there is outstanding volume and concentration to the big-bodied and openly muscular flavors that exhibit evident power and punch on the hugely long finale. This is presently very compact and like the Perrières very clearly built to age. I should note that while this is certainly going to need time it is not especially austere and I suspect that it will begin to drink well after only 5-ish years or so if that's your preference. Drink 2024+. Don't miss! |

| BH 93 (6/2019): A cool and admirably pure nose displays notes of green apple, floral, citrus and a hint of wood toast. There is excellent volume, power and punch to the well-detailed and overtly stony broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate on the impressively long finish that also reflects a bitter lemon nuance. While this is a classically styled CC, it remains relatively refined and should drink reasonably well after only 5 years or so of bottle age. Drink 2027+. |

| VM 95 (7/2024): The 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru has a creamy nose with touches of white chocolate, almond and chamomile. However, considering the vineyard in question, I would have liked more mineralité and terroir expression. A bit of alcoholic warmth develops in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Tightly coiled citrus fruit, orange zest and patisserie, though it doesn't fully deliver the tour de force finish you want from a "Monty". Let's see what a few years in bottle will do. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Drink between 2028-2052. |

| BH 91 (10/2020): Hints of matchstick and exotic tea add breadth to the ripe, pure and pretty floral and poached pear-scented nose that is trimmed in just enough wood to comment on. The elegant middle weight flavors possess a lilting mouthfeel before concluding in a lightly stony, sleek, focused and persistent finish that gradually reveals just a touch of sweetness. This is particularly fine though it will need to develop more depth to merit its rating so do hold it for at least a few years. (Drink starting 2024). |

| VM 92-94 (12/2020): A blend of two parcels, the 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru was the first to be picked by Bouchard in this appellation. The well-defined bouquet features touches of lemon thyme, walnut and smoke. The palate is balanced with fine acidity, fresh and focused. The pretty, apricot-tinged finish fans out wonderfully and leaves residues of grilled almond and sesame on the aftertaste. Excellent. Neal Martin. |

VM 92-94 (11/2021): Fine lemon and lime colour, with a detailed elegant bouquet and a sense of class all the way through to a slightly richer bouquet. The Bouchard 2020 Genevrières certainly has the detail, with a mix of white fruits, a little apple and also some citrus. A fine Genevrières for the medium term. BH 91-93 (6/2022): A ripe and naturally exotic nose features notes of Asian-style tea, anise, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The relatively generously proportioned medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the very dry and youthfully austere finish that also possesses a touch of bitter citrus character. Lovely juice and this is really quite classy. Drink 2028+. |

Complex nose with some tension, a very faint toast in a way which works, and a sense of energy to the fruit – indeed more in fruit than flowers. Swells beautifully, yet retains its characteristic restraint. Really pretty finish, a very sound bet for a village Puligny. |

BH 89 (6/2025): Pretty, cool and airy aromas of apple, pear, acacia and a whiff of lemon are complemented by delicious, beautifully textured and slightly more concentrated middle weight flavors that possess fine volume, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, clean, dry and well-balanced finale. This is a lovely Puligny villages that is surprisingly powerful. Well worth considering. (Drink starting 2028). WA 88 (1/2025): Carillon's 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village offers up aromas of sweet orchard fruit, ripe peaches and bread dough, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and generous palate. VM 87 (1/2025): The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village, bottled in March, is very minimalist on the nose. It doesn't deliver the fruit you would think the season would bestow. The palate is balanced with light malic notes. It's a little soft around the edges and this needs more tension on the finish. This is par for the course. (Drink between 2024-2029). Neal Martin. |

BH 97 (11/2021): (with thanks to Dr. Michael Chen and Hal Borthwick). Cool, reserved and incredibly pure green apple, citrus, floral and white pear notes blend seamlessly into concentrated mineral-driven flavors that deliver the hallmark delineation, power and breathtaking persistence of a classically styled Corton-Charlemagne where the only possible reproach is a hint of warmth. This monument is extremely impressive and destined for a long life, indeed it has only just entered the front end of its prime drinkability. Consistent notes, indeed I've never had a poor bottle; note that my scores have ranged from 95 to 97 points. WA 94-95 (12/2001): The toasted oak-scented 2000 Corton-Charlemagne has the austerity found in many of this vineyard's wines in the 2000 vintage. However, it is vinous, rich, and broad. Pure flavors of minerals, toast, and spices can be found in its highly delineated, profound offering. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015. VM 94+ (10/2002): Oak-influenced aromas of grilled nuts, vanilla and nutmeg. Dense and voluptuous; as ripe as the Perrieres but less expressive today despite its extraordinary texture. Solid and chewy wine with an almost tannic finish. More explosive today on the aftertaste than it is in the middle palate. This may well prove to be a more complete wine than the 2001 example. |

VM 98 (9/2016): Readers lucky enough to own the 2009 Corton-Charlemagne will have a hard time keeping their hands off this beauty. The warm vintage has softened some of the contours, resulting in a Charlemagne that is surprisingly accessible at a young age. All the Coche signatures are present, the edges are a bit rounded, which results in a wine of frankly extra-terrestrial beauty. Smoke, slate and crushed rocks are some of the notes that lend nuance to the expressive, silky fruit. The 2009 somehow manages to be radiant and crystalline. This is about as great as wine gets. (Drink between 2019-2029). Antonio Galloni. BH 96 (6/2012): Here the nose resembles that of the Genevrières with its mildly exotic fruit aromas that combine with rose petal, citrus, wet stone and apple scents. This is a big wine, indeed the word massive does not exaggerate the palate impact of the almost breathtakingly concentrated and powerful flavors that, despite all of the size, weight and dry extract, avoid any trace of heaviness on the extraordinarily long finish that is also borderline painfully intense. There is a very mild touch of warmth but this is a minor nit in what is a genuinely remarkable effort that should age gracefully for years. (Drink starting 2021). WA 96 (4/2018): The 2009 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is fabulous, soaring from the glass with a youthful bouquet of preserved citrus, vanilla pod, pastry cream, subtle white truffle and toasted sesame. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and layered, with a textural attack, deep core, excellent concentration and succulent acids. The length on the finish is extraordinary. While this is the highest in alcohol of the vintages in this tasting (2009-1999), it's better integrated than in the 2006 or 2003 vintages, both of which seem warmer—which Jean-François Coche suggests is because wine made from clean grapes hides its alcohol better than wine made from botrytized grapes. Raphaël Coche adds that 2009 was a year defined by "sun and juice," as vines set a large crop and ripened it in balmy conditions without suffering from any stress. |

Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru |

BH 96 (3/2023): A discreet if perceptible application of wood sets off still youthful and wonderfully fresh elegant, ripe and beautifully layered and aromas of mandarin orange, peach, white flowers, apple, anise and mineral reduction. There is excellent concentration, especially for the vintage, to the broad-shouldered and moderately powerful flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel on the mid-palate yet the hugely long and pungently stony finish. The '11 Coche CC is stunningly good and still clearly on the way up though not so much so that it couldn't be enjoyed now if given 30 minutes or so of air. In sum, this is one of the wines of the 2011 vintage. VM 96 (12/2020): Two vintages of Coche Dury’s Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru follow. Neither 2011 nor 2003 is especially highly regarded, but it is precisely vintages like these that can be so instructive because they tell us so much about what talented growers can achieve in challenging years. The 2011 Charlemagne needs several hours of air to open, which is not surprising, as it has always been a stubborn wine. I remember that Jean-François Coche hesitated to show the Charlemagne when I stopped by to taste the bottled 2011s, as he felt the long malos had resulted in a wine that needs more time in bottle to fully come together. Now, at nearly age ten, the 2011 remains quite vibrant and nervy, with striking citrus, floral and mineral notes laced into a racy frame. All it needs is a bit more flesh, but it’s the sort of flesh that develops with more time in bottle. Antonio Galloni. |

WA 93 (1/2023): The 2020 Meursault Village has turned out beautifully in bottle, unwinding in the glass with scents of crisp Anjou pear, lemon zest, freshly baked bread, blanched almonds, pastry cream and apple blossom. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, its textural attack segues into a fleshy, precise mid-palate that's animated by racy acids, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. It's another terrific rendition of this benchmark cuvée. BH 91 (6/2023): A more elegant and very Meursault nose combines notes of acacia and citrus confit with those of hazelnut and white orchard fruit, all of which is trimmed in a discreet application of wood. Here too there is outstanding density to the more powerful mouthcoating flavors that possess a more sophisticated texture while displaying excellent persistence on the balanced finish that is shaped by lemon-tinged acidity. This is lovely and a wine that should easily repay 10 to 12 years of keeping. (Drink starting 2030). |

WA 94 (1/2021): A tensile, racy wine—two-thirds from Pernand-Vergelesses, one-third from Aloxe-Corton—the 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with scents of white flowers, orange oil, buttery pastry and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, it's chiseled and saline, with impressive cut and grip. BH 91-93 (6/2020): (the proportions have changed again and in 2018 are in a 35/65% proportion from Les Languettes in Aloxe and En Charlemagne in Pernand.) A restrained, ultra-fresh and distinctly floral nose reflects notes of various white orchard fruit aromas, lemon zest and discreet wood toast. There is outstanding volume to the rich and succulent broad-shouldered flavors that possess focused power on the beautifully long and sappy mineral-infused finish that is shaped by citrus-tinged acidity. This isn't quite as structured as the Chevalier, but it too is promising. Drink 2028+. |

A restrained, ultra-fresh and distinctly floral nose reflects notes of various white orchard fruit aromas, lemon zest and discreet wood toast. |

VM 93+ (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Fôrets 1er Cru was promising from barrel last year. Now, in bottle, it has held on to that complex, mineral-led bouquet, with hints of chamomile in the background. The palate is very well balanced with a silver thread of acidity, like the Montée de Tonnerre. Quite understated towards the finish, suggesting that this will benefit from a few years in bottle. Plenty of energy, but patience required. Neal Martin. BH 93 (10/2024): There is ample citrus influence suffusing the nose that could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its array of seashore, algae and oyster shell scents. The caressing but notably denser and more powerful larger-bodied flavors coat the palate while retaining an attractive texture on the strikingly persistent finish that is shaped by bright acidity. This can't match the MdT for refinement but it is presently more complex and should age just as well. |

WA 94 (8/2019): A bottling that regularly excels chez Dauvissat, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet opens in the glass with delicate aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, crisp green apples and white flowers, with only subtle hints of the oyster shell to come. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with a deep and tight-knit core, striking tension and a searingly mineral finish. Séchet—where Dauvissat owns a 0.8-hectare parcel—is located in the Vaillons Valley, but its windier situation and soils richer in active limestone mean it's typically much chalkier and more tensile than the other climats that make up Vaillons. VM 92 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis Sechet 1er Cru is soft and open-knit, not to mention incredibly inviting. Dried pear, almond, spice and savory notes all grace this lovely, absolutely charming Chablis. Pretty floral overtones add to its considerable allure. This is one of the wines in this range that will drink best with minimal cellaring. (Drink between 2020-2032). Antonio Galloni. BH 91 (10/2019): An impressively broad-ranging nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, wet chalk, sea breeze, citrus and dried apple. There is good richness yet also good refinement to the generously proportioned flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the beautifully persistent finish. This too is very good and should age effortlessly. (Drink starting 2027). |

VM 97+ (7/2016): Bright, pale yellow. Compelling high-pitched aromas of grapefruit and liquid minerals. Conveys a virtually solid impression of extract in the mouth, with its sexy sweetness more than buffered by saline crushed-rock minerality, lemon, grapefruit, white flowers, vanilla, white pepper and soft spices. With its extraordinarily fine-grained texture, complex soil tones and palate-staining finish, this essence of minerality is one of my early candidates for wine of the vintage in 2014. Although it should enjoy a long and glorious evolution in bottle, it's not particularly austere today. Stephen Tanzer. BH 95 (10/2016): (from 7 different parcels of 50+ year old vines that total 1.7 ha.) It would be all but impossible to mistake this for something other than Chablis as the pungent aromas of oyster shell, iodine and ocean shore elements immediately announce its origins. There is superb intensity to the powerful and concentrated flavors that display so much minerality that the palate impression is akin to licking rocks. Yet for all of the intensity and power this remains impeccably well-balanced on the hugely long and saline-infused finale. This too is a complete knock-out and should age effortlessly. Drink 2026+. |

| WA 95 (8/2021): The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Ménétrières is the most muscular wine in the range, unwinding in the glass with aromas of Anjou pear, crisp green apple, citrus zest, hazelnuts and almonds. Full-bodied, fleshy and broad-shouldered, with a taut core of concentrated fruit that's girdled by lively acids and chalky dry extract, it concludes with a long, saline finish. |

| WA 96 (9/2022): The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Vignes Blanches is also performing superbly, unwinding in the glass with notions of wet stones, citrus oil, crisp Anjou pear, freshly baked bread, nutmeg and iodine. Full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's multidimensional and enveloping, with racy acids, terrific concentration and a long, saline finish. |

| BH 93 (6/2020): ( from a .33 ha parcel in Les Languettes.) A much more restrained nose reluctantly offers up its array of exceptionally floral-infused aromas that include those of acacia, lilac and rose petal along with hints of Granny Smith apples and lemongrass. There is outstanding volume and power to the relatively refined larger-scaled flavors that are much, much more mineral-driven on the youthfully austere, serious and compact finish. This beauty will need at least a few years of keeping first and should amply reward 10 to 12. Drink 2028+. |

| BH 92-94 (6/2021): (from a .33 ha parcel in Les Languettes.) Prominent aromas of mineral reduction and floral elements are laced with hints of wood toast, citrus peel, apple and anise. The sleekly muscular and stony big-bodied flavors are also nicely refined yet powerful while possessing excellent delineation on the youthfully austere finale. This is clearly ripe yet manages to retain the style of a classic CC. Drink 2031+. |

VM 90-92 (12/2021): The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a nicely detailed bouquet with fine delineation, orange pith and light linen scents developing with time. The palate is well balanced with tangy orange zest on the entry, quite linear and strict with a fresh finish, though it does not quite possess the mineralité of the Combettes. Neal Martin. WA 90-92 (1/2022): Notes of pear, waxy yellow orchard fruit, nutmeg and freshly baked bread introduce the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières, a delicate, medium-bodied white that's bright, fine-boned and saline in this warm vintage. |

| VM 93 (8/2018): The 2016 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a very precise bouquet with subtle veins of liquorice infusing the citrus fruit, all well defined and focused, if not blatantly powerful. The palate is very well delineated with a slightly viscous, utterly harmonious opening. This feels effortless and natural, the acidity beautifully pitched with a precise and sustained finish that has just the right amount of salinity to urge another sip. Bon vin! (Drink between 2020-2032). Neal mArtin. |

| VM 89+ (8/2021): The 2017 Chablis Montée de Tonerre 1er Cru has a lightly perfumed, smoky nose with white peach and gunflint scents, all well defined and focused. There is just a little SO2 to contend with. The palate is medium-bodied with a reduced entry. A suppressed and slightly bitter Montée de Tonnerre that feels bitter on the finish. Maybe I would give it a couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune. (Drink between 2023-2032). Neal Martin. |

| VM 90 (1/2024): The 2022 Rully Village has a lovely bouquet: light tropical scents, a touch of lemon verbena and crushed stone, well-defined and focused. The palate is balanced and cohesive, with a slightly waxy texture, fine acidity and plenty of extract on the finish. This is a delightful Rully from Fagot. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London. (Drink between 2025-2033). Neal Martin. |

JM 93-95 (6/2021): Lighter lemon yellow, the bouquet offering a light touch of menthol and especially anis. Deeper generous soil here but they think they have learnt to get the best out of it. Certainly a grand cru wealth of fruit, the acidity keeps the balance very nicely, a generous warm overcoat and good length. Nice wine! BH 92-94 (10/2021): This is restrained to the point of being all but aromatically mute though aggressive swirling eventually coaxes notes of green fruit, citrus peel and oyster shell nuances to reveal themselves. There is both excellent volume and concentration to the big-bodied, powerful and imposing flavors that are focused, structured and youthfully austere. This is very much a work in progress, and I would advise allowing this at least 5 years of cellaring and it should easily reward a decade or more. VM 92-94 (10/2021): The 2020 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru comes from six hectares of vines, southwest- and south-facing, forming the two different cuvées. The bouquet unfolds to offer lovely yellow fruit and oyster leaf aromas, well defined and quite generous. The palate is taut and crisp with fine acidity and moderate depth, but very pretty and composed toward the saline finish. There is plenty of substance already in situ and I foresee this aging with class. Neal Martin. |

| BH 93-95 (11/2020): (from a 2.2 ha parcel at the bottom section of the vineyard; even so, the vineyard is so steep here that it must be worked entirely by hand as tractors would be dangerous to use.) This too offers a wonderfully broad range of classic Chablis elements that include mineral reduction, iodine, ocean breeze and quinine on the citrus-infused nose. The racy, detailed and beautifully textured and focused flavors deliver outstanding length on the balanced, saliva-inducing and sneaky long finish. This is also quite classy and if not quite as complete as the Preuses in 2019, it's close and with time in bottle, it may well catch its stablemate. Drink 2029+. Don't miss! |

| BH 93-95 (10/2023): This is the coolest and most restrained of this group of 2022s with its elegant aromas of prominent mineral reduction, lemon-lime, spice and oyster shell. There is almost painful intensity to the intensely stony and strikingly well-detailed larger-bodied yet still beautifully refined flavors that display huge length on the impeccably well-balanced finale. Like the Preuses, this is very classy and built to repay extended keeping. Drink 2032+. |

VM 94+ (8/2017): Pale, green-tinged yellow. Captivating but youthfully reticent scents and flavors of citrus peel, white pepper, fresh herbs, crushed stone and white flowers, plus a whiff of rhubarb. Quite broad and full but not at all heavy in the mouth. This wine doesn't have the acid edge of the Bougros Côte Bouguerots but is wonderfully silky and horizontal, coating every square millimeter of the palate--and it's hardly short of energy! Most impressive today on the superb dusty, mounting finish. This potentially outstanding wine still needs time to gain in complexity but it should evolve positively in bottle for many years. Production here was cut by the pre-harvest hailstorm, but if this fruit was picked earlier than originally forecasted, it does not seem to have suffered for it. Stephen Tanzer. BH 93 (10/2017): ( from 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope.) Once again there is just enough wood present to warrant mentioning on the strikingly fresh, cool and pure nose of mineral reduction, ripe pear, sea water and floral aromas. There is flat out remarkable power to the highly energetic flavors that also display ample amounts of dry extract that imparts a sappy texture to the intensely mineral-driven, explosive and hugely long finish that is unusually dry for the vintage. It's interesting as one can sense an elevated level of alcohol but surprisingly there is no associated finishing warmth to speak of. Drink 2023+. |

BH 95 (10/2019): (from 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope.) Here too there is enough wood, even though subtle, to merit mentioning on the decidedly cool and reserved nose that offers up plenty of floral elements along with those of citrus, iodine and oyster shell. The lavishly rich, muscular and overtly powerful flavors possess the hallmark minerality that carries over to the dense, citrusy and bone dry finish. This beauty should age effortlessly and is class in a glass. Drink 2032+. VM 94 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is dense and exotic, with tremendous volume and textural richness that develops with a bit of air. It should start to settle down with more time in bottle. Today, though, I am struck by the wine's sheer weight. Antonio Galloni. |

| BH 93-96 (11/2020): (from 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope.) If Kimmeridgian could be distilled, it would likely smell exactly like the nose of the 2019 Les Clos with the additions of wet chalk, citrus zest and oyster shell. There is equally good delineation to the snappy, painfully intense and overtly stony large-bodied flavors that deliver superb length on the balanced finale. This elegant and classy effort is also built on a base of almost pungent minerality and a wine that is indisputably going to age effortlessly for years. Drink 2031+. Don't miss! |

| BH 93-95 (10/2023): This is aromatically quite similar to the Côte Bouguerots but with more floral influence. The rich, big-bodied and tautly muscular flavors are also seemingly chiseled from Kimmeridgian, all wrapped in a wonderfully persistent, very dry, balanced and stony finale. This is also extremely impressive and equally built to repay extended cellaring. Drink 2032+. |

| VM 97 (1/2020): An exotic, totally beguiling wine, the 2017 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru melds together rich fruit with saline, mineral-drenched intensity. White flowers, mint, white pepper and crushed rocks add tremendous lift to this striking, utterly captivating Chablis. A wine of superb classicism, the Preuses has it all. That's all there is to it. Antonio Galloni. |

| BH 94-96 (11/2020): ( from two parcels of vines that total 2.55 ha, or 22% of the entire appellation.) This too could be from nowhere else except Chablis with its citrus-tinged aromas of tidal pool, white flowers and shellfish. The racy, intense and painfully intense larger-scaled flavors possess cuts-like-a-knife delineation on the bone dry and super-saline finish where a distinct bitter lemon quality slowly emerges. This is very classy juice and also built-to-age. Drink 2031+. Don't miss! |
