WA 90-92 (1/2019): Derived from the superior lieux-dits of Les Houlières, La Rousselle, Les Charmes and Les Enseignères, Boillot's 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village exhibits pretty aromas of lemons, white peach, fresh pastry, blanched almonds and honeycomb. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, with succulent acids and a saline finish. VM 89-91 (9/2018): Bright yellow-green color. Inviting aromas of white peach, flowers and noble herbs. Broad, round and dry, with its pure stone fruit flavors lifted by floral and spicy elements. A classy, classic Puligny villageswith a dry, saline back end. Stephen Tanzer. |

| BH 93 (6/2019): A cool and admirably pure nose displays notes of green apple, floral, citrus and a hint of wood toast. There is excellent volume, power and punch to the well-detailed and overtly stony broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate on the impressively long finish that also reflects a bitter lemon nuance. While this is a classically styled CC, it remains relatively refined and should drink reasonably well after only 5 years or so of bottle age. Drink 2027+. |

Chablis 1er Cru La Forest |

VM 95 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis La Forest 1er Cru is a standout and one of the wines that brings together so many of the best elements of the Dauvissat house style. A Chablis of marvelous contrasts, the Forest is at once light on its feet and also packed with notable intensity. At the same time, the Forest is mysterious and not ready to show all of its cards yet. There is so much to look forward to. The Forest emerges from eight parcels spread across 3.7 hectares, Dauvissat's largest holding. I imagine the diversity of these micro-parcels goes a long way in giving the wine dimension and complexity. Antonio Galloni. BH 93 (8/2021): A cool and airy combination offers up notes of algae, lemon rind and wet stone where the latter element can also be found on the sleek, intense and energetic middle weight plus flavors that are a bit finer than usual, all wrapped in a bone dry and aggressively mineral-driven finale. A classic La Forest that should continue to develop over the next 4 to 7 years. In a word, excellent. Try from 2025+. |

Chablis 1er Cru Sechet |

|

WA 94 (8/2019): A bottling that regularly excels chez Dauvissat, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet opens in the glass with delicate aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, crisp green apples and white flowers, with only subtle hints of the oyster shell to come. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with a deep and tight-knit core, striking tension and a searingly mineral finish. Séchet—where Dauvissat owns a 0.8-hectare parcel—is located in the Vaillons Valley, but its windier situation and soils richer in active limestone mean it's typically much chalkier and more tensile than the other climats that make up Vaillons. VM 92 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis Sechet 1er Cru is soft and open-knit, not to mention incredibly inviting. Dried pear, almond, spice and savory notes all grace this lovely, absolutely charming Chablis. Pretty floral overtones add to its considerable allure. This is one of the wines in this range that will drink best with minimal cellaring. (Drink between 2020-2032). Antonio Galloni. BH 91 (10/2019): An impressively broad-ranging nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, wet chalk, sea breeze, citrus and dried apple. There is good richness yet also good refinement to the generously proportioned flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the beautifully persistent finish. This too is very good and should age effortlessly. (Drink starting 2027). |

WA 94 (2/2020): The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Marquis de Laguiche is showing brilliantly from bottle, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of orange oil, nutmeg, Anjou pear, white peach, honeycomb and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with an elegantly textural attack, fine concentration at the core and racy underpinning acids. Harmonious and complete, this is routinely one of Drouhin's finest white wines, and that is true in 2017 also. VM 92 (8/2021): The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeots 1er Cru (Marquis de Laguiche) displays a light reduction on the nose, touches of clear honey, jasmine and lemon thyme developing with aeration. The pretty palate of white peach and passion fruit notes is a little sweeter and more candied than Olivier Leflaive's Abbaye de Morgeot tasted in the same flight, but maintains a fine bead of acidity with good salinity through to the finish. Very pretty and more-ish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune. (Drink between 2023-2040). Neal Martin. |

BH 95 (10/2019): (from 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope.) Here too there is enough wood, even though subtle, to merit mentioning on the decidedly cool and reserved nose that offers up plenty of floral elements along with those of citrus, iodine and oyster shell. The lavishly rich, muscular and overtly powerful flavors possess the hallmark minerality that carries over to the dense, citrusy and bone dry finish. This beauty should age effortlessly and is class in a glass. Drink 2032+. VM 94 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is dense and exotic, with tremendous volume and textural richness that develops with a bit of air. It should start to settle down with more time in bottle. Today, though, I am struck by the wine's sheer weight. Antonio Galloni. |

| BH 91-94 (6/2019): (from Les Pougets in Aloxe-Corton.) A classic nose of green apple, citrus peel, white fruit and wet stone introduces racy, ultra-intense and almost aggressively mineral-driven flavors that don't quite possess the sheer weight and power of the Montrachet on the still impressively complex and lingering finish. This too is quite firm and will need every bit of 12 to 15 years to reveal its full, and considerable, potential. Drink 2029+. |

| VM 89-91 (1/2019): The 2017 Meursault Porusots 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet, with white flower scents complementing the hazelnut and linseed aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and slightly viscous toward the second half, revealing touches of marzipan and mango, though there is a counterbalancing spiciness that keeps everything focused. I’m not sure about its long-term prospects, but it should give a lot of pleasure over the next decade. (DIAM GC closure) (Drink between 2019-2029). Neal Martin. |

VM 89-91 (1/2019): The 2017 Saint-Aubin La Princée offers apple blossom and fresh limestone scents on the nose that feels well defined. The palate is fresh on the entry, very lively and citrus fresh with a touch of orange zest that enlivens the finish. Perfect drinking over the next several years, though it remains a couple of steps behind the Premier Crus. (Drink between 2020-2028). Neal Martin. BH 88-90 (6/2019): There is interesting Chablis-like nuances of iodine and quinine present on the more citrus-inflected nose of lemongrass and acacia blossom. There is a bit more size and weight to the rich and nicely textured flavors that also exude a subtle bead of minerality before concluding in a dry and clean if mildly rustic finale. BH 92 (6/2019): A deft if not invisible touch of wood sets off an expressive nose that consists primarily of citrus, resin and white orchard fruit aromas trimmed in hints of lychee and tangerine peel. Here too there is good vibrancy and an appealing freshness to the delicious, complex and well-detailed finale that displays just a touch of warmth. I very much like the depth and this should prove to be excellent in time. (Drink starting 2024). VM 91-94 (7/2018): Complex, inviting aromas of white peach, lemon and minerals. Intense flavors of fresh peach and apricot show a lovely supple texture as well as firm supporting minerality, with a note of sweet oak adding appeal. Finishes sappy, smooth and long, with terrific fruity persistence. I could drink this tonight! Clearly an outstanding vintage for this cuvée. Stephen Tanzer. |

WA 91-93 (8/2018): The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Les Roncières hails from a parcel where the vines are planted east-to-west, so its grapes are never exposed to direct sunlight. It's a charming, medium to full-bodied wine, with pretty aromas and flavors of ripe citrus and spring blossom, displaying superb tension and length on the palate. Supple, bright and transparent, it's a lovely example of this lieu-dit within the climat of Les Vaillons. VM 91-93 (8/2018): The 2017 Chablis Roncières 1er Cru, perhaps one of the only producers to bottle this vineyard and name it as such, has a very perfumed bouquet with hints of flint, orange zest, cooking apple and even a touch of raspberry ripple. The palate is very well balanced with a taut line of acidity, rather powerful but really well focused with quite a phenolic but not overwhelming finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2020-2030). Neal Martin. BH 90-92 (10/2018): A classic Chablis nose offers up floral, green apple and iodine wisps. The medium weight flavors manage to display both good richness with fine delineation and punch and particularly so on the almost painfully intense, bone dry and chiseled finish. Like the Séchets, this is going to require at least some patience. Fine quality here. (Drink starting 2024). |

WA 90 (1/2020): Ramonet's 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has opened up a little since I tasted it earlier this year, offering up notes of pastry cream, crisp green orchard fruit, citrus oil, vanilla pod and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and nicely concentrated, with sappy acids and a fleshy core. This is a charming but nicely defined Chassagne that will offer a broad drinking window. BH 90 (6/2020): A touch sulfur-induced reduction isn't enough to mask the oak trimmed ripe white orchard fruit-scented nose, but it does blur some of the nuance. Otherwise there is a lovely texture to the acceptably concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a seductive mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the clean, dry and youthfully austere finale that flashes a touch of rusticity. This fine Chassagne villages is already solidly complex and more depth should develop with time in bottle. (Drink starting 2023). |

| BH 91-94 (6/2019): (from a full 1.1 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines in Champ Canet proper though some of them were planted in 1938 at the same time as the Bienvenues.) Ripe but attractively fresh aromas are comprised by notes of mostly white orchard fruit, and in particular essence of pear, along with plenty of floral elements that are trimmed in hints of wood, matchstick and mandarin orange peel. There is excellent volume to the powerful, intense and concentrated middle weight plus flavors that display a refreshing salinity on the driving, complex and beautifully long finale. Once again there is solid structure present so this will require at least some patience. Drink 2029+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! |
