| WA 93 (10/2021): Beautifully fresh in its purple color, the 2015 Anjou Cabernet Franc opens with ripe and fleshy cherry fruit on the nose. On the palate, this is a highly elegant, finessed and concentrated red with crunchy but ripe tannins and refreshing mineral acidity that leads to a long and linear finish. This is a concentrated and elegant Cabernet Franc with remarkable finesse. I'd keep it for another couple of years, though, and then you can surely enjoy it for up to two or more decades. |

WA 94 (10/2021): The 2015 Saumur Champigny is deep, refined and elegant on the clear and fresh nose that displays very fine dark berry and iodine as well as chalky and herbal aromas. Round, intense and juicy on the palate, with fine tannins and acidity, this is a silky, deep and fleshy, very fine and elegant yet also lush and balanced Cabernet with fine tannins and a long and intense, aromatic finish. 12.5% alcohol. Natural cork.
VM 93 (7/2020): This was Charly Foucault’s last vintage. Fruity and floral on the nose with an edge of smoke. Big boned and intense, but with a smoothness to this wine, with lots of raspberry, cranberry, and cherry, silky tannins and a long cool finish. Jason Wilson. |
