WA 97 (12/2022): Werner Schönleber served the 2021 Frühlingsplätzchen GG after the Halenberg, which has never been the case here in 20 years, but knowing Werner's passion for the purity and freshness of this terroir, this makes completely sense. I remember I liked the 2019 Frühlingsplätzchen better than the Halenberg when it was young, and also from the 2021 vintage I adore the purity, brightness and flinty finesse of the Frühlingsplätzchen which is definitely the brighter, uplifted and purer Riesling. The finish is enormously salty and savory and reveals lemon fruit bitters on the aftertaste. This is life from stone, and it has a damn serious, very long and saline finish. Natural cork. 12% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. JS 95 (7/2022): Complex nose of pink and yellow grapefruit, peach and spring flowers. A super-elegant, dry Nahe riesling that marries plenty of juicy fruit with excellent concentration and vibrant minerality that leaps out at you. A slew of wild-berry and rose-hip character adds to the excitement at the dangerously crisp, wet-stone finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. |

JS 98 (7/2022): The vibrant white-peach, wild-herb and floral bouquet of this stunning GG makes a serious statement. Very compact and concentrated, it’s only just beginning to reveal its abundant treasures. Super-focused and precise, it grows and grows as it shoots over the palate at great speed. Incredible depth of wet-stone minerality at the super-long finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2025. WA 97 (12/2022): The 2021 Halenberg Riesling GG is coolish, fresh, pure, extraordinarily deep and complex on the ripe and concentrated yet precise nose that reveals notes of crushed stones and iodine. Powerful, rich and complex on the palate, this is a full-bodied, dense and very intense Riesling with a concentrated fruit core and a firm (mineral) structure that holds and even uplifts this giant that a will develop into an iconic German Riesling over the years in the bottle. It is still tight and youthful but possibly the greatest Halenberg I have tasted in more than 20 years. Natural cork. 12.5% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. |

| VM 92 (3/2023): About half of this Riesling comes from Kirchspiel (representing most of the Keller’s vines in that site that aren’t close to seventy years old), with the rest mostly from Hubacker; but the other Westhofen crus are also marginally represented. Apple and white peach aromas are laced with basil and mint in an alluring aromatic display. Zesty lime, ginger and coriander seed serve for startling inner-mouth stimulation and striking vivacity against a background of satiny, glossy richness. The finish grips cheek-tuggingly, deploying pip- and pit-piquancy for maximum stimulation, while delivering consummate refreshment. (Drink between 2022-2036). David Schildknecht. |

WA 99-100 (8/2022): The 2021 Felseneck GG is a wild expression of crushed flint and slate stones, herbs, green leaves, chamomile and lime zests along with iodine notes of lemon juice. Full-bodied but rich and very elegant on the palate, this is a pure, crystalline, sharp and dense laser sword of a dry Riesling that many might call too ascetic for now, but the richness, intensity, concentration and balance are just perfect to guarantee long bottle aging. The tannins are fine and intermingled with salts and extract, power and richness and the character of crushed stones. Very long, intense, concentrated and rich, this is a legend in the making. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in July 2022. Decanter 98 (8/2022): At times, the reductive style masks the origin of Tim Fröhlich's wines. However, the Felseneck site always manages to assert itself. The soil is a mix of Rotliegend, blue Devonian slate, quartzite and Balat, very rocky and barren - and also very expressive. Above all, the usual smoky notes, alongside grapefruit, are balanced by an impression of dried light tobacco leaves. Very intense and very long. (Drink between 2028-2050) |

| WA 98-99 (8/2022): The 2021 Stromberg GG offers a bright and pure, enormously radiant and earthy/herbal bouquet of crushed porphyry rocks and concentrated Riesling berry aromas intermingled with iodine notes. Great purity mixed with intensity and complexity. Full-bodied, refined and enormously salty on the palate, this is a compact, fresh and challenging dry Riesling with elegant and rich fruit, great density and no makeup at all. This is a bone dry but juicy wine that represents a long-distance runner with salty grip and tension. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in July 2022. |
