Top-Tier Henschke for Long-Term Cellaring

For more than 150 years, the Henschke estate has defined the heights of Eden Valley and Barossa winemaking, crafting wines that combine site purity with remarkable depth, longevity, and elegance. Today’s selection showcases the very best of their portfolio—wines that collectors seek out with purpose and that drinkers treasure for their grace and age-worthiness.
Leading the offer is the iconic Hill of Grace, a single-vineyard expression of ancient, ungrafted vines that consistently ranks among the world’s great Syrahs. Its complexity, aromatic lift, and textural finesse place it in a category all its own. Alongside it, Mount Edelstone continues to deliver profound concentration and aromatic precision, offering a more approachable but equally compelling Eden Valley profile.
For those looking to explore the broader Henschke range, Keyneton Euphonium offers extraordinary value—crafted with the same meticulous farming and restrained winemaking as the flagship bottlings, yet in a style ready to enjoy now or hold for years. It remains one of the estate’s most dependable expressions of Barossa character and Henschke pedigree.
This is an excellent opportunity to add benchmark Australian wines to your cellar—wines crafted with integrity, history, and unmistakable character.

WA 95 (4/1997): Other than the top cuvees of Penfolds' Grange, and the old vine Grenache and Astralis from Clarendon Hills, no Australian wines are richer than these offerings from Henschke - a winery that gets my nod as one of Australia's two or three finest producers. Each of these wines coats the mouth with glorious levels of jammy fruit, extract, glycerin, and silky tannin. They are all dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied, and capable of lasting at least a decade, and in the case of the 1991 Shiraz Hill of Grace, possibly 20+ years. WS 91 (6/1995): Marked by minty currant aromas with flavors to match. A bit rustic and still tannic, but it unfolds some complex flavors and holds together. Should be even better by 1997. 1,000 cases made. |

| WS 94 (11/1997): Earthy, almost decadent-tasting, but there are plenty of ripe plum, prune and black cherry flavors to accompany the gamy streak and hints of black pepper in this distinctive wine. Impressive now, better in 2000 or 2002. |

| WA 91 (4/2013): Deep brown in color, the 1993 Hill of Grace shows dried herb characters over notes of dried cherries, earth and pencil lead. Crisp and concentrated, it has firm, chewy tannins and offers a good expression of what fruit remains, even if it is a little under-ripe and lean in the long finish. It is mature. |

VM 92+ (7/2000): Deep, bright ruby-red. Extremely subtle, complex nose combines black raspberry, smoked meat, orange peel, dark chocolate, earth and game. Large-scaled and powerful on entry; then silky and voluminous. Really expands on the palate and builds on the aftertaste, with the fruit outlasting the ripe tannins. I would have scored this wine even higher except for a hint of disjointed acidity. Stephen Tanzer. WA 91 (4/2013): Deep garnet-brick in color, the 1995 Hill of Grace has a slightly leathered, dried fruit nose that is a little tired though highlighted by notes of sandalwood, tree bark and earth, hints of leather and meat. There's a touch of barnyard on the palate and it is a bit past its peak, fading slightly with crisp acid and firm, chewy tannins through a long finish. |

VM 94 (4/2023): The 2006 Shiraz Hill of Grace is still young and feels far from its peak. It already displays significant volume and rich aromas of primary mulberry, blackberry, clove and cedar in a riper frame that have not yet been fleshed out. The palate also remains a little closed with spicy dark berry fruits wound up in mouthcoating tannins. However, the length and balance are immaculate, suggesting it just needs time. Angus Hughson. WA 97 (4/2013): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2006 Hill of Grace has some oak poking through the red and blue fruit aromas, with underlying toast, marmite and sage hints. Medium to full-bodied, it is a very tight knit and youthful wine with crisp acid, medium to firm, finely grained tannins and a long finish. Drink it 2014 to 2030+. |

| WA 96 (4/2013): Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2008 Hill of Grace has a slightly closed nose before giving subtle notes of ripe black cherries, blackberries and violets with hints of cedar, pepper, green tea and cumin. There's a slight raisin character on the full-bodied palate with crisp acid, dense fruit and firm, grainy tannins, finishing long. Drink it from 2017 to 2035+. |
