WA 97-99 (12/2008): The 2007 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard eclipses its 2006 counterpart. It also reveals a greenish hue to its straw color, in addition to extraordinary intensity, crisp acidity, stunning texture and length, and abundant aromas of quince, citrus blossoms, honeysuckle, poached pears, and tropical fruits. It should drink well for 4-6 years or longer.

WA 97-99 (12/2008): Made from a suitcase clone apparently smuggled in from the Montrachet Vineyard (as vineyard myth has it), there are 350 cases of the 2007 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard, which possesses the most fabulous minerality of any California Chardonnay. Its steely backbone as well as its extraordinary depth of white currants, nectarines, quince, and honeyed citrus are both provocative and lingering. Full in the mouth, with Outstanding acidity, this 2007 has the potential to be one of the half dozen or so finest Chardonnays ever made in California.

WA 94-96 (12/2008): The 2007 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is a return to the brilliance of the 2005. From 35-year old, old Wente clone vines (preferred by nearly every top Chardonnay producer in northern California), this cuvee exhibits incredible elegance, crisp acidity, noteworthy minerality, and a full-bodied, substantial personality. Notes of quince, nectarines, honeyed citrus, pineapple, and subtle smoke emerge from this rich, opulent Chardonnay that should drink well for 5-8 years.
