| VM 95 (6/2021): Glistening ruby. Intensely perfumed aromas of red and blue fruit preserves, exotic spices, potpourri and olive are sharpened by a smoky mineral nuance. Juicy and energetic in character, offering seductively sweet, mineral-laced boysenberry and black raspberry liqueur flavors along with candied violet and star anise flourishes. The floral and spice notes drive an extremely long, penetrating finish that features velvety tannins and lingering minerality. Josh Raynolds. |

La Brena Garnacha |

| WA 95 (11/2020): The red 2018 La Breña is one of the latest additions to the range and was only previously produced in 2016. It is from a small plot in the same zone of Villanueva de Ávila as Rumbo al Norte, a 0.3-hectare vineyard on very shallow granite and sandstone soils at 1,100 meters in altitude. This is only 100 meters away from Rumbo al Norte, yet the wines are quite different. They work all their vineyards organically and biodynamically, and the fermentation for the single-vineyard wines is similar, with the full clusters in oak vats with indigenous yeast, a very delicate extraction and a long maceration (60 days). The wine matured in a concrete tulip (not exactly an egg, it has a different shape) for 14 months. It has more finesse than the initial 2016, but it doesn't seem to reach the finesse of the other plots in 2018. It's juicy and has a gentle texture, and the granite is quite subtle. It's a step up over 2016. |

| VM 88 (2/2019): Blanco Monopole (rioja) White) Pale straw color. Brisk citrus fruits, fresh flowers on the nose. Dry and nervy in style, offering light-bodied lemon and green apple flavors and a touch of honeysuckle on the palate. Finishes taut and slightly bitter, leaving fennel and citrus pith notes behind. Josh Raynolds. |

| WA 95 (9/2022): The 2018 Clos Figueres follows the path of cleanliness and precision of the 2017 in a better vintage. It's Garnacha and Cariñena from old vines with Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah and Monastrell, which seems to be a Mediterranean grape that is coming out of the closet in Priorat. It fermented and matured in new and second use 300- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. It's powerful and ripe at 15% alcohol, but with a low pH and good freshness. It's nuanced and complex and has elegance and some floral notes, with a more developed nose compared to the younger 2019 and 2020 tasted next to it. This has to be one of the finest vintages of Clos Figueres ever. 5,150 bottles were filled in February 2020. |

JS 100 (7/2022): Such a deep yet complex and sophisticated nose, showing discretion, perfume and finesse. A hint of violet extract to the black cherries, crushed blueberries and cocoa powder aromas, together with Spanish cigars that slowly evolve to truffle, black pepper, incense and freshly chopped herbs. Juicy, yet really composed and dry, with medium to full body and abundant, immaculately fine-grained tannins that unwind evenly on the palate. A style that is restrainedly plush and refined, showing superb precision, cohesion and length, when you give it enough time in your glass. If Las Beatas is the fine Burgundy, then this would be Telmo Rodriguez’s Rioja answer to world-class Bordeaux. Decant it to let the complexity come through. Drink through the next 20 plus years. WA 96+ (7/2022): The second vintage of the top-of-the-range 2018 Yjar was produced with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and other grapes from selected plots from Remelluri. It has 14.6% alcohol and a pH of 3.45. This has a more modern profile than the other wines from Remelluri, with more sophisticated tannins, a wine that is different, ripe and powerful, with the depth of the Remelluri wines. It's spicy and peppery, long and chewy with a long finish marked by the limestone from the soils. 5,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2021. |
