| VM 93 (11/2023): The 2011 Vintage is a very pretty wine in this highly challenging vintage. Apricot, mint, dried herbs and a kiss of French oak open nicely in the glass. There is some of the savory character of 2011, but it is nicely woven into the wine’s fabric. To be sure, the 2011 is a slender vintage at Krug. That is especially evident in the wine's light-ish mid-palate and overall feel, yet all the elements are impeccably balanced. I expect the 2011 to be a relatively early maturing Vintage and would not push my luck on aging. Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 93 (7/2018): The Brut Cuvee Speciale Les Chetillons is quite frankly a revelation. It is also one of the wines of this very challenging vintage. Candied lemon peel, white flowers, sage, mint, tangerine and pastry abound. The savory elements that are typical of the year are nearly buried by the sheer richness and concentration of the fruit. Given the trajectory of so many 2011 Champagnes, I would not push my luck with the 2011 Chetillons, but there is no doubt this is an impressive effort from Rodolphe Peters. Disgorged November 2017. | WA 94 (10/2021): After the tightly coiled, hyper-concentrated 2008, Taittinger's 2011 Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne represents a more immediate, charming rendition of this cuvee. Bursting from the glass with aromas of orchard and stone fruit mingled with notions of pastry cream, blanched almonds and mandarin, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and fleshy, with a soft and enveloping profile, lively acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse. Readers might think of the 2011 as a somewhat less reductive and less intense stylistic sibling of the 2006, and as it takes on more toasty complexity with bottle age, it will make for immensely seductive drinking. |

WA 93 (8/2019): Aromas of confit citrus, pear, fresh pastry and English walnuts preface Vilmart's 2011 Brut Premier Cru Coeur de Cuvee, a full-bodied, muscular and incisive wine with a deep core, racy acids and a delicately nutty finish. Disgorged a few months ago, it is a terrific effort that transcends the vintage, even if it won't go down as one of the great renditions of Coeur de Cuvee. Champs told me that he picked five or six days after his neighbors, and that appears to be borne out by the wines body and structure.
VM 93 (12/2019): The 2011 Brut Coeur de Cuvee has put on a bit of weight since I tasted it last, and that is not a bad thing at all for a year in which the wines are a bit light. Tangerine oil, marzipan, pastry, lemon confit and a touch of sweet oak give the 2011 tons of complexity. Beautifully perfumed and nuanced, the 2011 is once again positively stellar.
