JD 91-93 (4/2024): In contrast, the 2024 Château Cos D'Estournel Blanc is more Sauvignon Blanc-dominated and is based on 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, resting all in just 8% new oak. It's cut from the same cloth as the Pagodes and has racy citrus, lime, crushed stone, and minty, grassy nuances as well as medium-bodied richness on the palate. It's balanced and has a layered, elegant mouthfeel and outstanding length.
VM 93-95 (4/2024): The 2024 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is one of the best editions of this wine I can remember tasting. Rich and ample, the 2024 possesses notable textural richness but also a good bit of moderating vibrancy. The balance here is simply superb. Lemon confit, almond, white flowers and chalk build into the layered, resonant finish. Antonio Galloni.
WA ?? (4/2024): Brooding and shy, the 2024 Cos d'Estournel Blanc reveals aromas of citrus and lime, followed by a moderately weighted, incisive and lively palate with tangy acids and a short finish. I'll reserve judgment until after bottling. |

VM 95-97 (4/2024): The 2024 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is complex, dynamic and an absolute delight. Everything about the 2024 speaks to class. Brisk acids drive through a core of citrus fruit, almond, mint, chamomile and white pepper. More than anything else, I admire the wine's tension and energy. Clean saline notes extend the dry, bracing finish. Antonio Galloni.
WA 92-94 (4/2024): Floral and complex, the 2024 Blanc from Smith Haut Lafitte offers up aromas of white peach, apricot, spices and spring blossoms. Medium-bodied, round and layered, it's sappy and seamless with an incisive mid-palate and a long, ethereal and refreshing finish. Matured in 50% new oak, this blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Gris represents a strong effort. |
