WA 95 (3/2018): Like always, Noon's 2014 Shiraz Reserve is sourced from a grower in Langhorne Creek. While it's a big, ripe, rich wine, it shows terrific complexity in its hints of cracked pepper, mint, clove and allspice layered over a bed of mixed dark berries. Full-bodied, it's loaded with supple tannins and blueberry fruit, yet it finishes dry and savory. It should drink well for a decade or more.

WA 98 (10/2018): Rich, concentrated and intense, the 2014 Grange delivers exactly what we've come to expect from this Penfolds icon wine. It's full-bodied, velvety in feel and loaded with plummy fruit, framed in vanilla and cedar. Dense, powerful and tannic, it should prove to be long lived, even by Grange standards. Gago doesn't rate the vintage overall that highly, but he says the selection this year for Grange was a bit more stringent and that production levels were just average. There are still over 1,000 cases for the United States.

WA 96 (6/2024): The 2014 Margaret Woodlands Vineyard is all about cocoa and roast beef crust, cedar and sandalwood, graphite and fresh pencil sharpener. In the mouth, the tannins are grainy and chewy, and this is an overly seductive quality that I find moreish and exciting. This is all about the tannins, and while the fruit is red fruited, it sits second seat to the gorgeous tannins. Superb. This has long been a wine with an avid following, one which I emphatically understand. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
