| VM 95 (4/2018): In this range, the 2016 Syrah Nellessen Vineyard is distinguished by its pliant, creamy texture and super-expressive aromatic top notes. Here the fruit leans towards the redder end of the spectrum. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, rose petal and sage infuse this succulent yet translucent Syrah from Wind Gap. Intensely floral and savory, the 2016 is a wine of pure and total pleasure. (Drink between 2018-2028). |

| VM 94 (3/2017): The 2015 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is a very serious wine. Then again, in 2015 proprietor Pax Mahle did not bottle his Armaugh, Majik or Walker-Vine Hill vineyard designates. The little fruit he was able to harvest off those sites when into this, the appellation-level Syrah. A big, tannic wine, the 2015 possesses notable depth and structure. Black fruit, smoke, iron, blood and savory herbs are some of the signatures in this bold, pungent Syrah. This is one of the many gems in the Wind Gap range. (Drink between 2019-2025).
