| WA 91 (10/2020): The 2019 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett is bright, clear and precise on the crystalline and flinty nose. Sweet but with sharp acidity and greenish fruit, this is a lean and sour Kabinett from 20- to 40-year-old vines. The wine is sharp, fresh and well-concentrated but doesn't reach the length of the great Kabinett wines from the Himmelreich and the Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Tasted at the domain in September 2020. |

| WA 89 (10/2020): The 2019 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Alte Reben is pure, fresh and phenolic on the very unpolished first nose that gives a stunningly coolish and just-ripe fruit expression. Elegant and round on the first palate, this is a full-bodied and pretty rich yet austere Juffer with grip and a quite astringent, drying and rather short finish. Not sure this is a perfect bottle. From another bottle that was opened five days earlier, the wine opened with a finer, fresher and more elegant slate and fruit aroma. On the palate, this remains an ascetic but crystalline and also quite intense Juffer Riesling that reveals more juice and fruit on the finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2020. |

| WA 90 (10/2020): The 2019 Graacher Dompropst Riesling Alte Reben is deep, ripe, intense and finely flinty/slatey on the nose that is really elegant and detailed. Round and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense and juicy Dompropst with a very long, intense and concentrated but also powerful and warming finish that reveals fine crystalline acidity. Very long and with iodine notes yet powerful. Tasted at the domain in September 2020. |

| WA 95 (10/2020): From 74-year-old vines (the first vineyard replanted after WW II in the then Himmelsleiter), the 2019 Mülheimer Sonnenlay Riesling Alte Reben feinherb is intensely aromatic yet pure, fine, fresh and coolish on the spicy and flinty nose that reveals fascinating fruit aromas and great terroir expression. Just fabulous! On the palate, this is an intense, rich and sweet yet finessed, highly complex and concentrated as well as piquant and tensioned Sonnenlay grand cru with power, grip and pure terroir expression, and it ends with lingering salinity, concise and crystalline acidity and mineral tension. This is a great wine, and it can—or should—be aged for decades. Tasted at the domain in September 2020. |

| WA 93 (10/2020): The 2019 Elisenberger Riesling Kabinett is very clear, fresh and coolish on the still reductive yet pure and stony nose. Lush and piquant on the palate this is a concentrated, lean and laser-sharp Riesling with juicy fruit and concise acidity. The finish goes straight, which makes this a Riesling for Japanese knife fans. Tasted at the domain in September 2020. |
