Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets

BH 91-94 (6/2023): An ever-so-slightly riper nose offers up attractively layered aromas of both white and yellow peach, acacia blossom and crushed fennel that are framed by just enough oak to notice. There is outstanding density and volume to the concentrated and powerful medium weight flavors that possess a seductive mouthfeel, all wrapped in a chiseled, stony and sneaky long finale where a pronounced, even bracing, bitter lemon character emerges. I suspect that this citrus pith taste will slowly dissipate with age. In sum, this is excellent with fine aging potential. (Drink starting 2029).
