| WA 97 (10/2018): Blended of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Padrone is very deep garnet in color and showing the opening signs of evolved fruit character—incense, exotic spices, new leather and pencil lead—over a core of crème de cassis, preserved red plums, kirsch and potpourri plus wafts of bay leaves and dusty soil. Full, rich, plush and seductive in the mouth with loads of red fruit and herbal sparks, it finishes long and earthy. |
