| WA 95 (12/2014): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Scarlett Estate is the superstar of this trio. Winemaker Mike Smith has fashioned a beautiful Cabernet revealing lots of crème de cassis, cedarwood and spice box intermixed with a subtle hint of oak. Full-bodied as well as elegant, it reminds me of some of the great BV Private Reserves from the 1950s and 1960s. Multilayered with sweet tannin, this concentrated blockbuster is remarkably elegant and complex. Consume it over the next two decades. |

JD 91 (12/2017): Brought up in 75% new French oak, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate offers a pretty, charming, forward style. Black cherries, incense, fruitcake, and spice notes all flow to a charming, rounded and supple Cabernet that has sweet fruit, ripe tannin and a balanced, delicious style.
VM 88 (1/2018): Scarlett's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is a supple, fruity wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the flavors retain their youthful intensity. (Drink between 2017-2022). Antonio Galloni. |
