2013

Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers

$99

VM 91+ (3/2016): Bright, dark red-ruby. Closed nose hints at brambly blackberry, spices and game. Sweet, concentrated and densely packed; not quite as high in acidity as the Poissenot (this is a warmer site) but with plenty of juicy energy keeping it tight in the early going. Shows a bit more evidence of oak on the finish, with the rather fine-grained tannins revealing a slightly dusty quality with air. (Drink between 2022-2032). Stephen Tanzer.
