Orlando Abrigo

2017

Barbaresco Meruzzano

$30

VM 92 (10/2020): The 2017 Barbaresco Meruzzano is pliant, open-knit and wonderfully expressive, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years, maybe more, as it has good backbone. Bright red fruit and a whole range of savory/mineral accents give the 2017 a real sense of energy that comes through loud and clear. (Drink between 2022-2032). Antonio Galloni.

WA 92 (7/2020): The Orlando Abrigo 2017 Barbaresco Meruzzano is a pretty and delicate expression with aromas of forest berry, rose hip and root licorice. These results are tonic and tight, and the wine shows the balance and energy that gives you confidence in its staying power and ample food-pairing versatility. The tannins are extra tight at this young stage, and I would suggest another year or two of cellar aging.
