WA 94-95 (6/2010): Brown spices, blond tobacco, sandalwood, and nutmeg mingle with red raspberry confiture on the nose of the Le Moine 2008 Clos De La Roche. A sweet, saline savor of lobster shell reduction wells up on the palate, reinforced by richness of texture. Fine layers of smoky peat and crushed stone add to the complexity and oscillating finishing dynamic of a wine almost certainly destined for 15-20 years of fascination and delight.
VM 92-95 (4/2010): Good full red. Outstanding smoky depth to the wild aromas of game and crushed stone; soil is currently dominating fruit here. Then fat, sweet and savory in the mouth, with an umami-like tex ture and a subtle smokiness that is all about terroir Finishes with Outstanding smoky persistence. This is more Clos de la Roche than pinot noir: I can imagine a wine lover weaned on New World pinot being utterly mystified by this.
BH 92-94 (4/2010): Noticeable wood adds nuance to the otherwise fresh, earthy and relatively somber plum and red pinot fruit where notes of anise, underbrush and a hint of animale are also present. The big and well-muscled flavors possess fine concentration and a seductive texture on the brooding and youthfully austere finish that is not only very firmly structured and generously wooded but delivers Outstanding length. This is a powerful wine in the context of the vintage and one that will need plenty of cellar time to be at its best. Don't miss! Drink: 2023+ |

| VM 93 (3/2017): Slightly dull medium red. The nose offers compelling complexity, with black raspberry and redcurrant aromas complemented by dried flowers, licorice, smoky oak and sweet earth. Plush, broad and seamless, displaying liqueur-like ripeness but also sound acidity to frame its red fruit flavors. Savory herb and earth notes add interest. VM 93 (3/2015): Medium red. Come-hither nose offers scents of black raspberry, Asian spices, flowers, tobacco leaf and earth. Sweet, sappy and sharply delineated, with darker fruit and spice flavors enlivened by underlying minerality. In a rather masculine, gripping style, with a very long finish showing terrific mineral firmness and solid but harmonious tannins. Stephen Tanzer.
WA 92-94 (2/2014): The 2012 Corton Perrieres Grand Cru has an engaging, slightly nutty bouquet that is reveals a floral component with aeration. The palate is taut and crisp with fine tannins, superb acidity and exuding great delineation on the finish. This is very classy and at the moment, out-performs the Corton Renards. |

VM 94-96 (2/2012): The 2010 Corgon Renardes opens with a gorgeous, expressive bouquet laced with super-ripe dark red berries, wild flowers and licorice. It is a vertical wine that fills out all the registers with multiple dimensions of flavor. Sweet, perfumed notes are the constant thread that links all of the elements together in this dazzling, pure Corton. This is a fabulous showing. Antonio Galloni.
BH 92-95 (4/2012): Here the nose is slightly riper than that of the Bressandes with more of an animale component to the darker fruit aromas of cassis and plum. The bold, robust and overtly powerful large-scaled flavors brim with seemingly buckets of dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the very firm tannic spine that shapes the tautly muscular and driving finish. This is very much a classic Renardes and unabashedly built to age. Drink 2025+. Don't miss! |
