VM 94-96 (2/2012): The 2010 Clos de la Roche, on the other hand, emphasizes focus and linearity. The wine's length alone is remarkable. Sweet red cherries, dried roses, exotic spices, smoke and licorice are some of the many notes that are woven throughout this utterly compelling, complex Clos de La Roche. BH 93-96 (4/2012): A fresh, cool and highly layered nose features notes of pure red pinot fruit, spice, earth, plum and game hints. There is the same superb richness to the suave and relatively supple middle weight flavors blessed with copious amounts of palate staining dry extract. The underpinning tannins are quite dense but both ripe and ultra-fine if not quite as fine as those of the Clos St. Denis. By contrast, there is even more power and even a bit more overall depth on the very firm, long and impeccably well-balanced finish. Drink 2025+. |

| BH 92-94 (4/2014): In much the same vein as the Clos de la Roche I would describe this as relatively elegant as well with its exceptionally pretty and lightly spiced nose of various red berry fruit aromas that enjoy added breadth from the presence of floral, spice and earth scents. There is enough wood influence to notice on the comparatively supple and rounded medium-bodied flavors that tighten up quickly on the firm, balanced, complex and attractively textured finish. WA 92-94 (6/2015): The 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is one of Mounir's finest wines this year. Sourced from around the famous walled vineyard, it has a cohesive bouquet with straight-laced brambly red berry fruit that are very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with strict crisp tannin, very good acidity and lovely poise on the sustained finish. If you seek an elegant Clos Vougeot than this will be the ticket.
VM 92-94 (1/2015): Medium red. Reticent aromas of raspberry liqueur, violet, licorice and spices. Sappy, spicy and tight, with intense, primary red berry flavors accented by fresh herbs and pepper. This tastes like whole-cluster fermentation but this wine was vinified with only a small percentage of its stems. A very fresh, refined style of Clos-Vougeot. (Drink between 2024-2039). BH 91-94 (4/2015): This is restrained to the point of being almost mute though aggressive swirling does reveal darker fruit and soft earth aromas. The intense, detailed and overtly powerful flavors possess solid size, punch and concentration before terminating in a lingering and balanced finish that is less youthfully austere and rustic than usual. (Drink starting 2025). |

| VM 93 (3/2017): Slightly dull medium red. The nose offers compelling complexity, with black raspberry and redcurrant aromas complemented by dried flowers, licorice, smoky oak and sweet earth. Plush, broad and seamless, displaying liqueur-like ripeness but also sound acidity to frame its red fruit flavors. Savory herb and earth notes add interest. WA 92-94 (2/2014): The 2012 Corton Perrieres Grand Cru has an engaging, slightly nutty bouquet that is reveals a floral component with aeration. The palate is taut and crisp with fine tannins, superb acidity and exuding great delineation on the finish. This is very classy and at the moment, out-performs the Corton Renards. |

| BH 89-92 (4/2019): Reduction masks the underlying fruit though does not extend to the palate of the much, much finer if decidedly less powerful flavors that exude evident minerality and underlying tension before culminating in a bitter cherry-infused finish. I like the depth though the dusty finish is somewhat short at present. Note that my predicted range assumes that the length will sort itself out. Drink 2029+. |
