WA 94+ (12/2011): Composed of 80% Shiraz and 20% Petite Sirah, the 2009 Proprietary Red reveals a very deep purple-black color and aromas of black cherry compote, warm blackberries and mulberries over hints of dark chocolate, yeast extract, Indian spices and black olives. Full bodied with a wonderful concentration of muscular black fruit and savory flavors, it has a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and crisp acid, finishing with a great persistence of pure blackberry flavors with some earthiness coming through.
VM 92 (7/2012): Dark purple. On the nose, dark berry preserves, incense, violet and cola, with a spicy overtone. Rich but lively on the palate, offering intense blueberry and mulberry flavors given lift by zesty acidity. Shows impressive power on the finish, trailing notes of candied flower and licorice. This wine is made by Ben Glaetzer from fruit grown in importer Ben Hammerschlag's vineyard. Josh Raynolds. |
