VM 90 (5/2006): Good ruby-red color. Exotic, very ripe aromas of blackcurrant, spices, mint and roasted oak; slightly porty. Then fat, sweet and round in the mouth, gushing with dark berry, black licorice and eucalyptus flavor. Finishes long and sweet, with a bit of acidity yet to be integrated. Stephen Tanzer.
WA 87 (12/2005): After the exceptional success of the 2001 and 2002, I must confess to some disappointment with the 2003. It exhibits a good dark ruby/purple color as well as lovely floral, black currant, earth, and toasty oak characteristics, but it is short in the middle without sufficient follow through. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. |

JD 94 (12/2025): Based on 86% Sauvignon Blanc/Musque and 14% Semillon from Napa and Sonoma County fruit and aged six months with 30% in oak barrels, the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc offers classic, fresh lime, ripe citrus, mint, and stony minerality aromatics. It's medium-bodied, has a bright, fresh, focused, pure mouthfeel, beautiful balance, and outstanding length. There are roughly 2,600 cases produced. Drink 2025-2035. (Drink between 2025-2035).
VM 90 (11/2025): The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is an airy, gracious, aperitif-style white drink now and over the next few years. Citrus peel, sage, tomato leaf and mint are all finely sculpted. (Drink between 2025-2029). Antonio Galloni. |
