WA 93+ (7/2015): The Riesling Polish Hill presents a very attractive nose filled with citrus and floral aromas set off by notes of herbs, fennel, coriander seed and a touch of wet pebbles. Light-bodied and dry, the palate reveals intense flavors enlivened by seamless acidity and a long finish with a mineral note.
VM 93 (3/2016): Bright straw. Assertive aromas of lemongrass, green apple and chalky minerals, with a touch of jasmine emerging as the wine opens in the glass. Stony and precise on the palate, offering incisive flavors of candied lime, pear skin and quinine underscored by a gingery nuance. Zesty acidity gives lift and bite to a very long, nervy finish, with the mineral and floral notes echoing. My experiences with this bottling suggest that it will be a long-term keeper. WA 93 (2/2020): The 2019 Polish Hill Riesling boasts hints of baby powder and lime alongside green apple and mint on the nose. It's medium-bodied, with a pristine, almost watery feel on the palate, but it simultaneously delivers fascinating intensity of flavor and tremendous length, with a gentle, softly dusty texture on the finish. It should easily cellar for more than a decade.
VM 93 (9/2022): Limpid straw-yellow. High-pitched citrus zest and floral aromas and a chalky mineral topnote. Vibrant and sharply delineated on the palate, offering juicy, mineral-laced grapefruit, green apple and honeysuckle flavors that deepen and spread out steadily with air. Shows powerful mineral character on the incisive, impressively long finish, which leaves intense citrus fruit and floral notes behind. (Drink between 2026-2036). Josh Raynolds. |
