JD 97 (12/2021): Certainly in the same league as the 2018, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is another full-bodied, ripe, incredibly sexy wine that has an incredible bouquet of red and blue fruits, sandalwood, crushed stone, and exotic spices. As with the 2018, it's flawlessly balanced and has a round, lush texture, supple tannins, and a great finish. The 2018 is more straight and classic, and the 2019 is more up-front, sexy, and exuberant. Both are incredible wines.
WA 96+ (11/2021): Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras explodes with vibrant scents of blackcurrant preserves, wild blueberries, candied violets and Indian spices, plus wafts of potpourri and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate is packed with rich, perfumed black fruit preserves flavors, framed by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long with a whole array of mineral and exotic spice sparks. |

JD 97+ (12/2021): I always love the Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady Vineyard from winemaker Benoit Touquette and the 2019 is no exception, offering a kaleidoscope-like array of cassis, blueberries, iron, crushed stone, and spice. Nicely focused on the palate, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and straight-up gorgeous, drink it over the coming 15+. (Drink between 2021-2037).
WA 96+ (11/2021): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady Vineyard charges out of the gate with bold notions of blackcurrant pastilles, stewed plums and blueberry pie, plus hints of rose hip tea, cracked black pepper and tar. Big, concentrated and muscular in the full-bodied mouth, it has ripe, plush tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and fragrant. |
