VM 91 (2/2023): The 2020 Esprit de Chevalier has a very perfumed, floral bouquet with pressed iris and peony infusing the blackberry and blueberry fruit. Very controlled and classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite concentrated black fruit laced with white pepper and a touch of Provençal herbs. Slight viscosity here, powerful with a generous finish, this is a superb Deuxième Vin that should give 12-15 years' drinking pleasure. Neal Martin.
WA 91-93 (5/2021): The 2020 L'Esprit de Chevalier is a fabulous second wine. Deep, vibrant and full of character, the 2020 pulses with energy. Sweet black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather, licorice and spice infuse this succulent, wonderfully juicy Pessac-Leognan. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this gem, and why should they? Antonio Galloni.
JS 93-94 (4/2021): Impressive depth of fruit and polished tannins to this second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. Full and intense with beautiful texture and an attractive finish. |
