WA 91-93 (12/2015): Leading off the reds from barrel, the inky colored 2014 Cornas is mouth-coating and rich, with a non-2014-like level of fruit and texture. It will be interesting to see how this shows from bottle. Stephane Robert continues to fashion some of the most impressive, concentrated and unctuously textured Syrahs in the northern Rhône. These latest 2013s are blockbusters, and his 2014s are some of the most concentrated wines I was able to taste from a vintage that mostly yielded forward, mid-weight drinkers. You can’t wrong with this estate.
VM 91 (3/2016): Opaque ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe cherry and blueberry preserves, olive and smoky minerals, enhanced by a peppery topnote. At once rich and lively, offering palate-staining dark berry and cherry cola flavors and intense back-end florality. Finishes spicy and very long, with impressive energy, subtle tannins and lingering spiciness. |

WA 94 (12/2017): The fruit-forward 2015 Cornas is full-bodied, rich and dense, packed with cassis and plum and hints of cedar and vanilla. Extremely ripe, it comes close to crossing that line but shows no heat or dried-fruit characters. It should drink well relatively young.
JD 93 (7/2018): The 2015 Cornas is a beauty and made in a fresh, lively, pure style that certainly doesn’t lack for fruit. Black raspberries, mulberries, black olive, leafy herbs, and even some gaminess all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, beautifully, and impeccably balanced Cornas. The tannins that were so present as a barrel sample are more refined and polished, but they’re still there. Give this beauty 3-4 years of cellaring and enjoy anytime over the coming 10-15 years.
VM 90-93 (3/2016): Inky ruby. Smoke-accented aromas of fresh blackberry, violet and black pepper, and a vibrant mineral touch that builds in the glass. Juicy and sharply focused, offering energetic black and blue fruit flavors and a deeper licorice nuance. The peppery quality comes back on the clinging finish, which is shaped by smooth, harmonious tannins. Josh Raynolds. |

VM 94-96 (12/2022): Saturated violet. Highly fragrant, mineral-accented boysenberry, cherry liqueur, candied violet and allspice aromas are complemented by a smoky mineral nuance. Offers palate-staining dark berry, candied licorice and bitter chocolate flavors that pick up notes of candied flowers and exotic spices on the back half. JD 94-96 (2/2022): The 2020 Cornas shows the vintage’s ripe yet fresh style. Lots of red and blue fruits, a kiss of minerality, medium to full body, and ripe tannins all make for a beautiful, impeccably made Cornas that will have two decades of longevity. |

JD 93 (2/2026): Ruby/purple-hued and semi-opaque, the 2023 Cornas offers perfumed cherries, black raspberries, smoked meat, leather, and spicy, floral nuances on the nose. It's medium-bodied and has a supple, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished, and nicely integrated tannins, no hard edges, and outstanding length. I followed this bottle for multiple days, and it held up beautifully and was always a joy to drink. It's going to evolve gracefully over the coming 10-15 years. Drink 2026-2041.
VM 92 (1/2026): The 2023 Cornas lets out early fragrances of ripe dark plum, black cherry and spicy undertones. Graphite dust adds more layers. Medium-bodied and smoothed-out, the 2023 touches the palate with well-pitched substance, clocking out with feather-light precision on the ferrous finish. Nicolas Greinacher.
WA 91 (3/2025): Crafted from 15 different plots and matured for 14 months in used barrels, the 2023 Cornas reveals an enticing, elegant bouquet of spices, mulberries and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, gourmand and fresh, it's elegantly layered with a juicy core of fruit framed by velvety tannins. Concluding with a long and ethereal finish, this attractive, well-crafted wine was fermented with 15% whole bunches. |

JD 96 (2/2026): Cut from the same cloth as the regular release, the 2023 Cornas Pur Noir is a single parcel selection that sports a deeper ruby, almost opaque hue as well as a killer nose of black raspberries, smoky garrigue, pepper, and game. It's medium to full-bodied and has a concentrated, wonderfully balanced mouthfeel, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. This spicy, complex, layered Cornas benefits from air and will have two decades of overall longevity. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Drink 2026-2046.
VM 94 (1/2026): The dashing 2023 Cornas Pur Noir uses grapes from the slopy section of the Champelrose lieu-dit, opening with prominent peppercorn, pencil shavings, ripe blackberry and spice box aromas. Medium to full-bodied and firmly built like a skyscraper, the 2023 is a gorgeous Pur Noir, packing discernible length and gently sleekened tannins all the way through to the elongated finale. JD 95 (2/2026): A parcel selection from three different sites, the 2023 Cornas Vin Noir shows an almost Côte-Rôtie-like floral character in its ripe red and black berry fruits, spice, peppery herbs, camphor, olive, and leather aromatics. It's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a more forward, charming, clean style. It already offers pleasure yet will evolve for 15+ years in cold cellars. Drink 2026-2041.
VM 93 (1/2026): The 2023 Cornas Vin Noir first lifts with pronounced spice box, ripe blackberry, smoky tones and pencil shavings. With a bit of aeration finely layered raspberry compote emerges. Built off finely sculpted tannins, the 2023 is such a well-composed Vin Noir, packing well-set concentration and drive, turning toward the finish with sleek poise. Nicolas Greinacher. |

JD 94 (5/2025): The 2023 Saint-Péray Marsanne (100% Marsanne) has a bigger, richer style, offering honeyed melon, dried herb, quince, and toast-like aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows beautiful balance, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. Aged 10 months in oak barrels, drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years or so. Drink 2025-2032.
VM 92 (1/2025): Bottled in July 2024, the 2023 Saint-Péray Marsanne showcases fragrant notes of honeysuckle, yellow apple, jasmine and chamomile. Checking in at 13% alcohol, the 2023 is a medium-bodied, concentrated Saint-Péray, neatly capturing sufficient freshness to keep it all in check. (Drink between 2025-2028.) Nicholas Greinacher.
