WA 93 (12/2014): Paris’s entry-level cuvee that comes from some of the lower slopes, the inky colored 2012 Cornas Granite 30 is a great bottle of wine that’s been an incredible value in the past couple of vintages. Classic Cornas, yet with a more approachable feel than the other cuvees, it has lots of wild herbs, saddle leather, garrigue, beef blood and currant-like fruit on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, impressively concentrated and ripe, it stays fresh, nicely focused and has enough structure to evolve for upward of a decade. VM 91 (2/2015): Brilliant ruby. Spicy dark berries and cherry on the perfumed nose and in the mouth. Lithe and mineral-driven, displaying very good clarity and a hint of smokiness on the back half. Finishes bright and nervy, with repeating spiciness and silky, even tannins. Josh Raynolds. |

| VM 90-92 (1/2025): The 2023 Cornas Granit 30 is exquisite, unwinding with alluring rose water, blood orange, black cherry, licorice and stemmy subtleties. Round and refreshing, the 2023 is shaping up to be an accessible Cornas that’s packed with remarkable energy and freshness all the way through to the juicy finish. Drink between 2026-2032. Nicolas Greinacher. |

| JD 93-95+ (12/2018): Similar colored, the 2017 Cornas Granit 60 comes from further up the slope and older vines. It offers a deeper, richer bouquet of black and blue fruits, smoked earth, violets, and ground pepper. Deep, full-bodied, thrillingly pure and elegant, yet still with classic Cornas density, power, and length, it's another gem of a wine from this incredibly talented winemaker. |

WA 95+ (12/2012): The massive 2010 Cornas La Geynale exhibits a black/purple color along with a beautiful perfume of bouquet garni, smoked meats, blackberries and creme de cassis liqueur. Some floral notes are also present in this huge, over-sized (or is it super-sized?) offering along with tremendous glycerin and intensity. There is plenty of tannin (as one would expect in a 2010), so forget it for 5-6 years and drink it over the following 25. VM 94 (4/2013): Opaque ruby. Smoky, mineral-accented aromas of dark fruit liqueur, incense and floral oils, with an intense spicy topnote. Offers an array of sweet dark berry and floral pastille flavors and becomes sweeter with air. Rich, lively, with superb finishing clarity, supple tannins and lingering floral and spice notes. Very concentrated but lithe, and built to age. WS 93 (9/2009): A modern Cornas, this keeps the dark, sauvage notes of grilled herb, tobacco and olive, but marries them to sleeker tannins and dark, fleshy currant and cherry fruit. The long, iron-tinged finish lets a garrigue note chime in. Mouthwatering. Drink now through 2020. 455 cases made. JLL ***** (9/2012): Dark red robe, oily aspect. The bouquet is broad, shows some meat stock, red beef droplets. There is a reserved depth in its black fruit, some thyme and baked bread, ash smoke. It is still firm. The palate has a variety of elements to make it complex - there is more than one game in town here. It gives the image of small, concentrated berries with good, tannic density and proper structure to allow gradual and steady evolution. It has the grain grounding of Cornas on the finish, mineral and powdered rocks. Good balance, interesting wine. From 2016. |

JD 95 (12/2018): The 2016 Cornas Geynale comes all from a single vineyard (the Geynale lieu-dit) and is never destemmed. It has rockingly old school notes of currants, cedarwood, ground pepper, and cured meats. Deep, rich, layered, beautifully textured on the palate, it's just loaded with charm, has terrific balance, no hard edges, and a big finish. It's surprisingly accessible (this cuvee almost always requires short-term cellaring) but is going to cruise for two decades on its balance. VM 95-97 (6/2018): (vines over 100 years old vines and no new oak) Brilliant purple. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes fresh black and blue fruits, Asian spices, incense, smoky minerals and olive paste. Deeply concentrated yet lively boysenberry, cherry pie, spicecake and bitter chocolate flavors are underscored by a building mineral quality. Shows a compelling blend of depth and litheness and finishes on a youthfully tannic note, displaying remarkable clarity and insistent mineral character. I don't think I have ever tasted as profound a wine as this one from Vincent Paris, who seems to be one of the most underrated and under-the-radar producers in the northern Rhône. Josh Raynolds. |

VM 95 (4/2020): Opaque ruby. Highly aromatic aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, incense, exotic spices, violet and a hint of olive. Densely packed and lively on the palate, offering intense dark berry liqueur, floral pastille and salty olive flavors, a hint of smoky minerality and building spiciness. Finishes chewy, focused and extremely long, with mounting tannins lending shape and grip to vivid dark fruit and floral notes. Josh Raynolds. JD 94-96+ (4/2019): The 2018 Cornas La Geynale is largely in the same style as the Granit 60, only with the gamey, bloody and meaty character (as well as tannins) turned up a notch. Black and blue fruits, rare meat, ground pepper, and wild herbs all give way to a structured, tannic wine that has beautiful purity and elegance. It's not for those looking for instant gratification, however. This cuvée comes from a single parcel, is not destemmed, and will see 16 months in 2- to 8-year-old barrels. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste the 2017s from Paris. |
