| BH 92 (4/2013): (From a .63 ha parcel). This is also almost still completely primary though there is a hint of secondary on the otherwise exceptionally fresh, pure and highly complex nose that evidences a hint of crushed herbs. There is excellent verve and tension to the strongly mineral-inflected large-scaled flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a clean, focused, well-detailed and moderately austere finish. This is still very much in its infancy and it's going to require the better part of another decade before it's completely ready for prime time. Drink 2022+. |

| BH 93 (4/2012): (From a .63 ha parcel). There is a hint of vegetal here that actually adds breadth to the sauvage, cool and wonderfully fresh and complex nose of red currants, earth and humus. The silky yet focused, intense and overtly austere big-bodied flavors possess an excellent sense of underlying tension on the still exceptionally tight finish that is supported by a very firm tannic spine. This is terrific as it has a strikingly sophisticated mouth feel and superb aging potential. Drink 2023+. |

| BH 95 (4/2012): (from a .63 ha parcel.) An overtly sauvage nose features game-inflected aromas of dark berries, plum, floral and earth nuances that also exhibit a hint of smoke. Somewhat unusually, this is also quite finely detailed and while this is openly powerful, it's not at all rustic or tough though it is exceptionally tight and backward at present on the impeccably well-balanced finish. This is even more restrained than the Rugiens and like its stable mate, it's pointless to acquire this without the express intension of forgetting it in your cellar. That said, this offers fantastic upside potential to those who have the patience. Drink 2030+. |

| BH 95 (4/2013): A perfumed and highly complex nose features the classic sauvage character of a fine Renardes with plenty of spice, earth and underbrush nuances present on the very fresh mix of red currant and plum aromas. There is Outstanding intensity, richness and concentration to the big-bodied mineral-driven flavors that also display an abundance of palate coating dry extract on the tremendously long finish. This doesn't have the same underlying tension as the Rugiens but it's even longer. A qualitative choice but note that these are two very different wines. Drink 2025+. |

| BH 95 (5/2011): A perfumed, complex and mostly still primary nose offers up earthy red berry fruit, underbrush and a touch of animale that can also be found on the generous and quite fleshy flavors that possess excellent volume as well as buckets of dry extract that almost render the firm and ripe tannins invisible on the massively long finish. Wow, this is a stunner of a wine with still plenty of upside potential remaining. Outstanding! Drink: 2019+. |

| BH 94 (5/2011): (from a large 1.74 ha parcel) A ripe, serious and brooding nose is composed of impressively complex red currant, blue berry, plum, violet and warm earth aromas. Given how the '05s are generally showing today, the tannins are actually quite fine and like the '08 Rugiens, the mouth feel of the robust yet focused flavors is highly sophisticated. This should be capable of aging for decades and will need at least one more. Drink 2020+. Outstanding! |

| BH 93 (4/2013): A fresh, pure and very cool nose offers up aromas of a variety of red berries, earth and a hint of the sauvage that is also reflected by the delicious, intense and broad-shouldered flavors. There is excellent volume but also plenty of underlying tension that imparts a real sense of verve to the long, balanced and highly complex finish. Despite the admirable size and weight this is a bit more refined than usual thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins. Lovely stuff and well worth considering. Drink 2022+. Outstanding! |

Offering up a deep bouquet in which aromas of cherries, cassis and plums mingle with nuances of dark chocolate, licorice and cedar, it's a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine with considerable amplitude and structure, underpinned by tangy acids. While the wine is already elegant and harmonious, its fine-grained but firm tannins are abundant: given the track record of Gaunoux's wines, I wouldn't expect this to show all its cards until its 20th birthday.
