VM 97 (10/2021): The 2019 Pinot Noir Sanford and Benedict Vineyard The Twelve Rows is magnificent. Rich and textured on the palate, with tremendous depth, the 2019 exudes class. Inky dark fruit, lavender, spice and tobacco are wonderfully vivid. The 2019 is endowed with so much complexity and sheer pedigree. What a wine! (Drink between 2023-2034). Antonio Galloni.
WA 96 (12/2022): Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir The Twelve Rows features blackberries and blueberries on the nose, with tones of aniseed, clay, dark spices and blood orange. The medium-bodied palate is soft, plush and inviting with intense, savory fruits, seamless acidity and a youthful sheen of new oak spices on the long, gently warming finish.
BH 87 (6/2023): A background hint of volatile acidity adds lift to the vaguely advanced aromas of mostly red berry fruit, spice and soft floral nuances. There is excellent vibrancy to the utterly delicious middleweight flavors that conclude in a dusty and somewhat one-dimensional finish that slowly leans out as it sits on the palate. Despite the description, this is drinkable but with that said, it would be fair to observe that it's not at the level that I have come to expect. Two bottles tried with consistent results. (Drink starting 2028). |
