| VM 92 (4/2018): Vivid purple. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes fresh black and blue fruits, olive, pipe tobacco and cracked pepper, backed by a smoky nuance. Spicy and penetrating on the palate, offering intense cassis and boysenberry flavors and a touch of star anise. Supple tannins gently frame a very long, penetrating finish that leaves spice-tinged dark fruit and bitter chocolate notes behind. Josh Raynolds. |

| VM 93 (4/2018): Bright violet. Heady, smoke- and spice-tinged blueberry, cherry liqueur and violet aromas show excellent clarity and pick up olive and smoky bacon notes with aeration. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering deeply concentrated black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors plus a suggestion of fine-spice powder. The impressively long, sappy finish features bright mineral cut, an echo of juicy blue fruit and velvety tannins that sneak up slowly. Josh Raynolds. |
