| JD 96+ (12/2019): The 2017 Cornas Les Eygats offers a more granite-driven bouquet of bloody blue fruits, liquid rocks, violets, game, and smoked meat. With full-bodied richness, integrated acidity, plenty of tannins, and more than enough fruit and pure opulence on the palate, this beauty needs 4-5 years of bottle age but is a singular, brilliant wine in every sense. This cuvee was destemmed and brought up in 50% new barrels. |

JD 98 (11/2020): From a cooler parcel of pure granite soils, the 2018 Cornas Les Eygats is probably the most classic Cornas in the lineup (although these all have plenty of Cornas character) with its more mineral, iron, and almost bloody style. Loaded with massive amounts of blue and black fruits, violets, and crushed rock nuances, this full-bodied, multi-dimensional, seamless Cornas has polished tannins, flawless balance, and a monster of a finish. This broad, expansive, sexy Cornas should drink well for 20+ years. (Drink between 2020-2042).
VM 95 (12/2022): Inky ruby. Sharply delineated dark fruit, exotic spice, floral, olive paste, smoked meat and vanilla qualities on the hugely perfumed nose. Coats the palate with deep, densely packed blueberry, cherry liqueur, fruitcake, olive paste and violet pastille flavors that convey a suave blend of richness and energy. The floral and mineral notes carry emphatically through an impressively long, youthfully tannic finish that shows superb clarity and spicy lift. 50% new oak. (Drink between 2027-2037). | JD 98 (12/2019): A candidate for the wine of the vintage in Cornas, the 2017 Cornas La Sabarotte knocks it out of the park with its awesome bouquet of blackcurrants, blackberries, toasted spice, graphite, crushed violets, and scorched earth aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, massively concentrated, and opulent, it has a wall of tannins under its fruit, a deep, concentrated mid-palate, and a great finish. It needs 4-5 years of bottle age and will cruise for 15-20 years. This cuvee comes from a granite terroir and was fermented and aged all in new French oak. |
