| VM 94 (6/2023): The 2018 Bramaterra Cascina Cottignano is a powerful, heady Nebbiolo-based red. Macerated cherry, spice, leather, tobacco and cedar all soar out of the glass. Rich and savory, the 2018 is super appealing. The purity of the flavors is superb. As alluring as the 2018 is today, it will be even better in another few years' time, once all the elements come together a bit more fully. Aeration brings out the wine's underlying breadth as well as a good bit of structure. (Drink between 2026-2038). Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 93 (6/2023): The 2018 Lessona Pizzaguerra is deep and incisive right out of the gate. Crushed flowers, mint, orange peel, sage and sweet pipe tobacco meld into a core of red-toned fruit in a seamless, layered Lessona that delivers the goods. Rich and yet not at all heavy, the Pizzaguerra is a terrific example of the house style. A dollop of Vespolina adds aromatic presence and complexity. This is such a classy and understated wine.
