Benoist Ranch Syrah

VM 93 (2/2016): A rich, tannic wine, the 2013 Syrah Benoist Vineyard is going to need time to fully come together. Dark raspberry jam, pomegranate, spice, white pepper, rose petal are all given an extra kick of energy from the bright, saline acidity that underpin the fruit. There is no shortage of complexity or nuances here. (Drink between 2017-2023). Antonio Galloni.

WA 92 (3/2016): Even better is the 2013 Syrah Benoist Ranch from the Sonoma Coast. Plenty of blueberry, blackberry, chocolate and pepper notes are present in this full-bodied wine, which offers structure, an opaque purple color, and complex, rich, spicy flavors. It should drink well for up to a decade.
