WA 91-93 (5/2021): The 2020 Larrivet Haut-Brion displays a deep garnet-purple color and exuberant scents of kirsch, black cherry preserves, stewed plums and warm cassis, plus hints of cinnamon stick and ground cloves with a waft of wilted roses. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of red and black fruit preserves, framed by plush tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. VM 89-91 (5/2021): The 2020 Larrivet Haut-Brion was cropped at 29hl/ha and aged in new oak barrels, the Merlot component mostly aged in clay amphorae. It has an intense and powerful nose, but without quite the same precision as, say, the La Louvière that I tasted alongside. The palate is medium-bodied with a minty opening, supple and most pastille-like, revealing veins of blood orange toward the finish. Good length, but I am seeking more complexity. Neal Martin. JD 93-95 (5/2021): Lots of blue fruits, spring flowers, candied orange, and exotic fruit notes emerge from the 2020 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion, a medium to full-bodied, floral, exotic, incredibly pure wine that opens up nicely with time in the glass. Possessing bright tannins, good overall concentration, and exceptional balance, this beautiful Pessac-Leognan will require just 4-5 years of bottle age to be drinkable and cruise for two decades. JS 92-93 (4/2021): A firm, silky red with blackberry, walnut and a hint of iron. Medium body. Fine tannins. Nice energy to this. |

JD 93-95+ (4/2026): Sporting a deep purple hue, the 2025 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion has classic aromatics of cassis, spring flowers, spicy wood, and graphite. Based on 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 22% Cabernet Franc, with the Cabernets raised in 50% new and once-used barrels and 5% of the Merlot aged in terracotta amphorae, I love its purity and vibrancy. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered mouthfeel, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. I'd buy it. VM 92-94 (4/2026): The 2025 Larrivet Haut-Brion offers a compelling mix of power and finesse. Cabernet aromatics confer notable inner perfume to play off a core of dark red-fleshed fruit. There's a lot to look forward to. Antonio Galloni. JA 93 (4/2026): Toasted spice, coffee, cocoa bean, slate, concentrated but with real promise to unroll and unfurl, lots of dark fruits and tannins. 3.54 pH. Harvest September 3 to 29. 25% new oak. Christine and Philippe Gervoson, Charlotte Mignon is the director. This is a young team and a lot happening, plenty of investment in vineyard and cellar, agroforestry programme. Tasted twice. |

JD 93-95 (4/2026): A blend of 88% Sauvignon Blanc and 12% Sémillon from a warmer terroir near Léognan, the 2025 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc is made in a more reductive style while still bringing ample fruit and concentration. Vibrant and pure aromatics of white peach, tropical flowers, and minty herbs all shine on the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pure, graceful mouthfeel, beautifully integrated acidity, and a great finish. I love the overall purity, balance, and complexity here. VM 92-94 (4/2026): The 2025 Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc is one of the most unique, extroverted whites in Bordeaux. Baked apple tart, candied ginger, pear and buttery Chassagne-like overtones blossom, conveying tons of nuance and character. This is impeccably done. Antonio Galloni. JA 93 (4/2026): Flinty gunsmoke reduction, campfire and cold ash, rich apricot and papaya, crab apple, liquorice root and slate. Large oak casks for ageing. High aromatics but on the palate the balance is clear. 3.23 pH. Harvest August 6 to September 3. 80% new oak. Christine and Philippe Gervoson. |
