VM 93-96 (5/2018): A wine of real distinction and class, the 2017 Feytit-Clinet possesses tremendous intensity and exceptional balance. Inky black cherry, lavender, charred earth and licorice, along with potent tannins, give Feytit-Clinet its explosive rich personality. As always, Feytit-Clinet is an especially virile, tannic Pomerol. All the elements are wonderfully fused together. The 2017 was tremendous on each of the three occasions I tasted it. In a word: Superb. Antonio Galloni.
JD 93-96 (4/2018): The charming (and talented) Jeremy Chasseuil has turned out a brilliant 2017 Feytit-Clinet from his tiny estate located between Trotanoy and Latour a Pomerol. Based on 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc aging in 65% new French oak, it offers a gorgeous nose of ripe black and blue fruits, violets, and damp earth, with impeccably integrated sweet oak. Full-bodied, rounded, and concentrated, it plays in the fresh, elegant style of the vintage, yet packs more oomph and texture than most. This is brought in exclusively by American merchant Jeffrey Davies and is well worth your time and money.
JS 91-92 (4/2018): Some good fruit with hints of chocolate and berry character. Medium body, firm tannins and an open finish. Should develop nicely. |

WA 93-95+ (6/2020): The 2019 Feytit Clinet rolls sensuously from the glass with notions of baked plums, Black Forest cake and blueberry preserves with touches of Chinese five spice, potpourri, dusty soil and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate bursts with ripe, rich black fruits, supported by plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy. This 6.68-hectare vineyard is situated between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol on gravel and sand-based soils.
VM 94-96 (6/2020): The 2019 Feytit-Clinet was cropped at 34hl/ha between 18 September and 3 October and matured in 70% new oak for an expected 16 months. It is understated at first and demands coaxing from the glass. It rewards you with pure black fruit, freshly shaved black truffles and touches of crushed stone. The palate is magnificent: precise tannins, a perfect line of acidity, impressive complexity and amazing focus. Oddly it reminds me of a Lafleur, though there is much less Cabernet Franc here. Unquestionably, this is the best Feytit-Clinet that Jeremy Chasseuil has overseen and I cannot wait to taste it in bottle. Nal Martin
JD 95-97+ (6/2020): The 2019 Château Feytit-Clinet is a beauty, offering loads of opulent blackcurrants, damp earth, licorice, new leather, and espresso aromas and flavors. It's a big, rich barrel sample that packs plenty of depth and richness, yet also stays light on its feet, with no sensation of weight or heaviness. It also offers integrated oak and a great finish. I'd be thrilled to have bottles in the cellar.
JS 95-96 (6/2020): This is a real beauty with ripe, opulent fruit and plush, polished tannins. It’s focused and tight at the end, but the texture and flavor is of standout quality. |
