| WA 88-90 (5/2021): The 2020 Doisy Daëne Blanc Sec gives up notes of fresh pears and white peaches with a savory undercurrent of baking bread, allspice and almonds. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing, offering a lovely purity of spiced pears flavors with a racy backbone and zesty lift on the finish. |

| JA 97 (4/2026): Once again this tiny stable of Doisy Daëne dry whites is right at the top of the vintage - and for me this year it's the Sauvignon Blanc version that really hits the heights. Green-gold in colour this delivers a juicy, poised and full of flavour wine. Expect passion fruit, preserved citrus, papaya, mango, lime zest, white flowers, so much breadth of flavour, tension and texture, push and pull, edges of gunsmoke. Brilliant, with the high acidity of the year wrapped in slate and silk. One of the whites of the year. 15% new oak. Dubourdieu family owners. |

| WA 94+ (2/2013): The 2009 Doisy-Daene was spectacular out of barrel, however it has never quite reached those ethereal heights in bottle. Perhaps this rich, generous vintage did not quite suit the crisp, tense style of Denis Dubourdieu’s Barsac? Compared to others in this blind tasting, it comes across as more muted on the nose with scents of beeswax, marmalade and lanolin, though the Sauvignon Blanc is very expressive. The palate is very well-balanced on the entry with crisp acidity cutting through the viscous texture. The finish is rounded in the mouth, offering attractive notes of lemon sherbet and orange essence. Everything is very “contained” at the moment, although the tension suggests that it should age well. I suspect this will need a decade before it really blossoms. Drink 2020-2040. |

WA 95-97 (4/2012): The aromatics on the Doisy-Daene comes racing out of the blocks like a March hare, soaring from the glass with honey, quince and lychee aromas with a sorbet like freshness and vivacity. The palate is supremely well balanced with a heightened level of tension and purity, offering delectable but subtle notes of white peach and apricot towards the beautifully composed, mineral-rich finish. Curiously, it reminds me of a top-flight Mosel Auslese, but what a fabulous Barsac from Denis Dubourdieu! JS 92-93 (4/2012): A dense wine with honey, spice and butterscotch undertones. Full and very sweet. Turns spicy on the finish. Lots of botrytis character. |

| JD 93-97 (4/2018): The 2017 Château Doisy Daëne is a seriously decadent, thick, opulent beauty that packs serious sweetness in its canned peach, lime peel, and exotic tropical fruit aromas and flavors. While it’s a big wine, it has terrific balance, good density and concentration, and a huge finish. It’s a potential blockbuster Barsac that’s going to have a long life. |

VM 92-94 (4/2026): The 2025 Doisy-Daëne is aromatic, lifted and sculpted. Green apple, pear, jasmine and crushed rocks are finely delineated in an airy Barsac that has so much to offer. The 2025 can be enjoyed young for its freshness, but it clearly has the energy and pedigree to age into an exceptional sweet wine over time. Antonio Galloni. JA 91 (4/2026): Another exceptional name in the Barsac appellation, showcasing the opulence of the vintage, with cloves, gunsmoke, papaya, grilled pineapple. Extremely concentated. Yield 13 hl/ha. 33% new oak |

| VM 95-97 (4/2026): The 2025 Doisy-Daëne L'Extravagant is fabulous. It offers an exotic mix of tangerine confit, candied ginger, marzipan, passion fruit and a kiss of new French oak. Airy and light on its feet, with superb depth, the 2025 shows exceptionally well. Antonio Galloni. |
