| JS 95-96 (4/2017): This is a really powerful red with fantastic density and richness. Silky and chewy tannins. Lots of chalky, crushed limestone character. Impressive. Let’s see what is better: the 2016 or 2015. |

JS 92-93 (4/2018): Some berry and spice character and a salty undertone. Medium body and a fresh finish. Firm and silky tannins. Shows some drive at the end. This is the first year from the owners of Canon.
VM 88-90 (5/2018): The 2017 Berliquet, which is matured in new oak, has quite a pure black cherry and iodine bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, quite harmonious if just missing a little complexity towards the finish. This Saint-emilion is more about the silky texture that I hope will be in situ after bottling. Neal Martin.
JD 88-90 (4/2018): Made by the team at Canon, the 2017 Château Berliquet is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Solid notes of black cherries, scorched earth, graphite, and violets give way to a rich, medium-bodied, nicely concentrated red that's going to put on weight with time in barrel and bottle. It has good acidity, the fresh, moderately concentrated style of the vintage, and a clean finish. It has Outstanding potential and should drink nicely for upwards of a decade. Tasted twice. |
