BH 88-91 (4/2005): A wonderfully seductive nose of plum and spicy black cherry framed in obvious wood lead to very earthy, sweet and intense, gorgeously complex medium full flavors and excellent length. The overall impression is not as elegant as that of the Couchereaux but there is perhaps more depth of material here. A choice. Outstanding! Drink 2013+. VM 88+ (4/2006): Medium red. Nose shows an almost candied ripeness, with hints of licorice root and smoky oak. Densely packed, broad and dry, with notes of strawberry, underbrush and mushroom. This liqueur-like wine is still rather bound up, but I would like to have seen a bit more verve. |

| BH 91 (4/2013): The generous wood the cask sample displayed has almost fully integrated though this does open with noticeable reduction. I gave this 20 minutes or so in a decanter which was sufficient to dissipate the funk and to reveal very pretty red and dark berry fruit, violet hints and earth nuances. There is excellent volume to the solidly well-concentrated medium weight flavors that are at once suave but detailed, all wrapped in a tension-filled, dusty, austere and mouth coating finish of impeccable balance. A classic Clos des Ursules that should reward well 12 to 15 years of cellaring. Drink 2022+. Outstanding |

| BH 91 (6/2022): A reserved nose requires vigorous swirling to reveal its array of cool, pure and nicely complex red and dark berries, earth, spice and a pretty floral whiff. There is an attractive mouthfeel to the sleek and nicely vibrant medium weight flavors that manage to retain good definition on the dusty, moderately warm and sneaky long finale. This youthfully austere effort should repay mid-term cellaring though it's not so tightly wound that it couldn't be enjoyed after only 2 to 4 years. Drink 2031+. |

VM 98+ (4/2008): Bright, full deep red. Pungently mineral aromas of raspberry, dried flowers, flint, smoke, mocha and underbrush. A monumental wine of ungodly intensity and extract without any impression of excess weight. The dusty, tactile extract fills the mouth with spicy, minerally, high-toned perfume, and the wine ascends to an even higher level on the peacock's tail of a finish, which boasts great energy and persistence. I drank this bottle over a period of four nights (one of us has to show some restraint), and oxygen couldn't kill, much less flatten, its treble tones, even as its volume and sweetness expanded. I hope I have a chance to revisit this at its peak, in about 20 years. BH 94-97 (4/2007): This is notably riper than any other in this group of Gevrey grands crus with a profoundly complex nose of red and black pinot fruit, warm earth, underbrush, game, anise, clove, mocha and roasted coffee hints that introduce rich, full and intense flavors that are packed with potential on the serious and chewy finish that is both concentrated and powerful while seeming to go on forever. There is quite simply another dimension here that takes the '05 Bèze well beyond its stable mates but be prepared to wait as this will need 15 to 20 years in the cellar first. Sublime. Drink: 2020+ Comments: Don't miss! WA 93-95 (6/2007): Deep black cherry, charred meatiness, rose and licorice give away the identity of Jadot’s 2005 Chambertin Clos de Beze. Firm tannins and mouth-filling but bitter black cherry fruit, along with black licorice, wet stones, smoky black tea and Latakia tobacco feature on the palate, and there is a savage grip in the the finish. This lacks the refinement and elegance of many of the best 2005s from this great site, but bids fair to make up for this in sheer intensity and mysteriously complex depth. Here is a potentially ageless wine that doesn’t merely typify the dark side of 2005, but is a veritable Darth Vader of the vintage. |

| BH 92 (4/2013): There is a discreet application of wood to the elegant, pure and lightly spiced nose of layered black raspberry and cassis nose that is also barely visible on the mineral-driven, intense and tension-filled medium-bodied flavors. There is excellent volume and plenty of mid-palate stuffing because while this is certainly a wine of finesse, it does not lack for character or seriously impressive persistence on the gorgeously balanced if distinctly austere finish. A wine of class and grace that will need plenty of cellar time as it has already begun to shut down. Drink 2022+. Outstanding! |

VM 96 (1/2018): Bright medium red. Sexy, soil-driven aromas of red cherry, raspberry, underbrush, rose petal and salty minerality; wonderfully subtle and complex. Silky on entry, then densely packed but weightless in the mid-palate, displaying outstanding inner-mouth spicy, floral lift to its intense red fruit and saline mineral flavors. A creamy, utterly seamless old-vines Chapelle with extremely refined tannins and inexorable subtle rising length. Outstanding--but will this wine shut down hard in bottle? Really captures the best qualities of the vintage without sacrificing its typicity. (Drink between 2026-2040) BH 94 (4/2018): This displays noticeable wood influence though here it's more in the form of menthol than toast though it's not so much as to materially impede the appreciation of the notably ripe red cherry and overtly floral-scented nose where ample hints of the sauvage and warm earth eventually appear. There is remarkably good concentration as the old vine sap is immediately evident whilst coating the palate and pushing the markedly firm tannic spine to the background on the powerful and intensely mineral-driven if noticeably warm finale. Despite the impressive size, weight and power this is actually more refined than usual but even so, it's going to require a very long snooze in an appropriately cool cellar. In sum, this is seriously good Chapelle. (Drink starting 2035). |

| VM 94 (3/2016): Medium red with a palish rim. Complex, soil-inflected aromas of red berries, rose petal, coffee, meat and musky underbrush. In the mouth, fine-grained raspberry, game and savory soil flavors are invigorated by notes of flowers, pepper and spices. Structured but without any hardness, this surprisingly accessible wine finishes with suave, nearly invisible tannins and a strong repeating raspberry flavor. With time in the glass, exotic notes of yellow peach and passion fruit emerged. This fascinating Clos de la Roche is less backward than some examples of this grand cru in 2013. Stephen Tanzer. |

BH 92-94 (4/2017): Notes of wood and menthol combine with those of red currant, dark raspberry and plenty of earth and game scents. The velvety yet quite powerful big-bodied flavors also brim with sappy dry extract that pushes the otherwise notably firm tannic spine to the background on the built-to-age, balanced and wonderfully persistent finale. Drink 2032+. WA 92-94 (12/2016): The 2015 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a voluminous and extravagant bouquet with blooms of red berry fruit, although I found myself more drawn to the complex and intellectual Clos Saint-Denis. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin. This is a masculine, assertive Clos de la Roche, quite saline in the mouth with a feisty, spicy finish. This is a fine grand cru from Louis Jadot, though not one of their top releases this vintage. VM 90-92 (1/2017): (a blend of purchased wine from two sources): Good full red. Aromas of cherry, herbs and oak show a youthfully medicinal quality. Powerful but a touch dry; this strikes me a bit energetically extracted at the expense of the vintage's potential silkiness. The medicinal menthol quality is complicated by notes of brown spices and earth, but the wine's primary fruit is very much in the background today. Finishes dry and imploded, with strong tannins. Not my favorite style of Clos de la Roche. Jadot has eight barrels of this wine, four made via a classic vinification, according to Barnier, and four using more modern, extractive techniques. Stephen Tanzer. |

WA 93 (1/2019): The 2016 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is showing well from bottle, unwinding in the glass with a youthfully primary bouquet of ripe cherries, red berries, candied peel and cassis that's subtly framed by some nicely integrated new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and satiny textured, its broad-shouldered chassis of impressively fine-grained tannin cloaked in a succulent, even tangy core of vibrant fruit, concluding with a long and nicely defined finish. While the structure is sufficiently refined that drinking a glass now isn't a brutalizing experience, a decade of patience is recommended. VM 91-93 (1/2018): (Jadot's vines in the lower part of the clos produced a normal yield in 2016): Bright, dark red. Medicinal red cherry, licorice, herbs and a strong element of spicy oak on the nose. Concentrated, savory and flavorful, communicating an impression of medicinal reserve. A classic, rather old-fashioned, masculine style of Clos Vougeot but not rustic or hard. Still, its tight, dusty tannins will require extended cellaring. Technical director Frederic Barnier believes that Jadot's Clos Vougeot has been getting steadily softer, as this site has benefited from climate change; he also noted that he has not changed the vinification. Still, this is a seriously tannic, rather saline wine without any easy sweetness. Stephen Tanzer. BH 92-94 (4/2018): An intensely earthy nose of a wide range of red berry aromas is surrounded by an abundance of menthol and wood scents. The muscular and sizably-scaled flavors possess a rounded and relatively supple mid-palate that contrasts considerably with the robust, serious, rustic and exceptionally firm finish. I like the depth as well as the persistence of this youthfully austere finish that makes clear that this too is going to require extended cellaring. Drink 2036+. |

| VM 93-95 (1/2020): The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has an intense bouquet of blueberry, cassis and iodine aromas, almost Chambolle-like in style. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Citrus-fresh with orange peel and marmalade notes toward the persistent finish. Excellent. Neal Martin. |

| BH 93 (6/2022): A relatively expressive nose offers up its array of essence of red berries, earth and pretty floral suggestions trimmed in just enough wood to mention. There is a lovely texture to the otherwise reasonably concentrated and moderately powerful flavors that also coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also helps partially buffer the solidly firm and slightly raspy tannic spine shaping the austere, mildly warm and compact finale. This is clearly going to require time to reach its full potential though it's not so structured that it couldn't be approached after 6 to 8 years. Drink 2031+. |

WA 92-93 (1/2023): The 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) has turned out very well, exhibiting aromas of sweet cherries, berries, petals and spices, framed by toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, it's deep and muscular, with fine balance and a penetrating finish. This cuvée is now harvested in two picks, one week or so apart, instead of all in the same day. BH 92-94 (4/2023): An unusually perfumed nose reflects notes of red currant, earth and a vague hint of exotic spice. In the same vein as the nose, there is an unusually suave texture to the round and delicious medium-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the compact, firm and sneaky long finish. This possesses fine development potential. (Drink starting 2033) VM 90-92 (1/2023): The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a rather stoic nose, with backward, light red berry fruit laced with decaying leaves that gradually unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, good density, dark berry fruit laced with orange rind and a pinch of white pepper. It misses the length and grace on the finish that a more benevolent season would bring. Fine. (Drink between 2025-2042). Neal Martin. |

| BH 94 (4/2013): ( from 90+ year old vines that are worked by horse.) A notably floral and elegant nose of ripe yet high-toned aromas of essence of red pinot fruit combines with subtle spice, game and warm earth nuances. There is a velvety mouth feel yet good precision to the wonderfully rich flavors that possess a high level of phenolic maturity before terminating in a refined, pure and delicately balanced finish. An exercise in harmony and grace that should allow it to age brilliantly yet not be completely uncivilized if you wanted to try one young. In two words, absolutely stunning. Drink 2025+. |

| BH 93-96 (4/2021): A plethora of spice nuances are present on the emphatically floral-suffused nose of red raspberry, earth and a whiff of exotic tea, all of which is trimmed in wood and menthol nuances. The plump, round and highly seductive flavors possess both good mid-palate density and a very sophisticated mouthfeel that continues onto the relatively powerful and highly persistent finale. The intrinsic class of a fine CSD is very much present and this is seriously impressive. Drink 2036+. |

| VM 91+ (3/1998): Red-ruby color. Vibrant blueberry aroma. Very large-scaled but wrapped up in its own structure today; ungiving but concentrated and strong. Really expands in the mouth. Almost painful on the very long aftertaste. This wine generally requires extended bottle aging, and 1995 appears to be a very strong vintage for this wine-clearly more impressive than the '96. VM 92+ (4/2008): Medium red. Reticent but fresh nose suggests menthol and stone. Silky-smooth but initially withdrawn, this opened in the glass to show vibrant flavors of spicy red fruits and minerals. Boasts superb energy and depth. The finish is firmly structured yet remarkably expansive and long, suggesting that this wine will repay 10 to 12 years of cellaring. WA 90-92 (6/2007): Jadot’s 2005 Corton Pougets displays luscious plum and black cherry in conjunction with grilled, singed lamb and chalky, alkaline, stony underlying character. Allspice, black pepper and pungent herbal shadings become evident on the palate. This impressively dense, meaty, mineral-laden wine displays polished tannins and persistently clear, ripe bitter-sweet black fruit, leading to a long, firmly gripping finish. Don’t be in any hurry to revisit it, and expect at least a dozen years of interesting development. (A Corton Greves on which I withhold any judgment was awkwardly tart and tannic, having as yet for some reason, said Lardiere, failed to recover from its post-malo racking.) BH 91-94 (4/2007): A touch of wood spice frames the elegant, airy and much cooler and more reserved mix of red and dark berry fruit, earth and a hint of smoke. The rich, pure and refined medium full flavors retain a fine sense of cut and detail on the intensely mineral finish that is linear, explosive and hugely long. This is going to be a long-distance runner as the balance is impeccable. In sum, this is a Corton of evident breed. Drink 2017+. |

| VM 94+ (2/2019): Bright medium red. Wonderfully pure, inviting nose combines strawberry, raspberry, rose petal, spices, white pepper and blood orange: I might have picked this essence of Burgundy as a Chambolle-Musigny! Plush, silky and fine-grained but tactile and substantial as well, boasting terrific energy for its vintage. (The vines benefited from the cooler temperatures and well-timed rainfall in August, which enable the wine to retain freshness, noted Frederic Barnier.) The wine's very primary red berry, spice and floral flavors display seductive sweetness but a strong element of saline minerality accentuates the overall dry impression. A great wine in the making, showing an almost peppery vibrancy today; I would not be surprised if this shut down in the bottle in the near future. Stephen Tanzer. |

| BH 93 (4/2019): Only a trace of wood influence frames gamy red and dark currant aromas that are liberally laced with spice and earth hints. As is usually the case, the mouth feel of the middle weight plus flavors is powerful, tautly muscular and energetic while offering excellent depth and length on the serious, markedly austere and very backward finish where touches of wood and warmth show up. While I suspect that this will be approachable after only 8 to 10 years, it will need the better part of 20 to arrive at its full potential. Drink 2034+. |

| BH 92 (6/2022): This is also really quite pretty with relatively high-toned, even perfumed, red berry fruit aromas that are trimmed in just enough earth and sauvage nuances to remind one that this is a Corton. The refinement continues onto the sleekly muscular middle weight flavors that also exude evident minerality on the moderately austere, dusty and slightly warm finale that offers both solid depth and length. This possesses fine development potential and is a wine that's going to need at least a decade first. |

VM 89+ (4/2003): Good medium red. Sappy aromas of bitter cherry, raspberry, minerals and flowers; at once superripe and very pure. Rich but tight on the palate; a bit youthfully tough for this wine, without quite its normal Outstanding precision, but sound acidity and very good density of material suggest it will merit a 90-point rating with a few years of bottle aging. Finishes with firm tannins and bright, lingering red fruit and mineral flavors. BH 88-91 (4/2002): Classically elegant Clos St. Jacques nose of ripe, dark, earthy, wonderfully elegant fruit that exudes complexity and fine detail followed by rich, supple, rather forward, almost easy flavors and a lovely finishing sweetness. The tannins are very ripe and round and the only nit here is that this seems to be a bit lower in acidity than the best of this range. I doubt this will be especially long-lived, at least by the usual standards of this wine. Outstanding! Drink: 2006-12. |

BH 92-94 (4/2018): Here too there is a distinct coolness to the wonderfully pure aromas of earth, rose petal, red currant and the sauvage that are set off by noticeable wood and menthol nuances. The rich, dense and sappy broad-shouldered yet refined flavors possess a suave and polished mouth feel, all wrapped in a stony and hugely long finish. This excellent effort is markedly firm but very well-balanced and should age effortlessly for years to come. Drink 2031+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! VM 92-94 (1/2018): (the crop was reduced 30% by the frost): Bright, full, dark red. Some very ripe notes to the aromas of cherry, raspberry coulis, strawberry and smoky minerals (technical director Barnier believes that Jadot was the last of the five owners of Clos Saint-Jacques to harvest in 2016). A step up in creaminess of texture from the foregoing Gevrey premier crus, but with terrific precision and acidity for all its density and richness. This very deep Clos Saint-Jacques conveys a restrained sweetness and lovely inner-mouth floral lift. Best today on the very long, rising finish, which features noble tannins and subtle notes of rose petal and tobacco. Stephen Tanzer. |

VM 98 (12/2023): The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques 1er Cru has a very perfumed and floral bouquet that takes time to settle in the glass, displaying lavender-tinged red fruit, potpourri and very fine definition, with subtle use of whole bunch. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins. This possesses fine acidity, commendable depth and perhaps just a little tightness toward the finish compared to its peers, but there is wonderful density here. This needs four or five more years in bottle, but, my word, I don't think I have ever been smitten by a young Jadot like this, and it romps home as best CSJ in show. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2028-2050). Neal Martin. JM 96 (9/2023): The palest colour. Discreet but still clearly rather ripe raspberries. Quite classy oak. Does not quite want to show itself. Quite pure fruit, no stems, not too ripe. A little bit of orange zest in ripe raspberry and redcurrant fruit. Is this wine all about discretion or is it just missing the extra kick of vitality? Maybe both of those ideas apply, but I am enjoying the acid balance of the finish, so coming down more on the side of discretion and class. |

BH 91-94 (4/2014): A slightly riper and more obviously animale infused nose features notes of red berries, wood, earth and plenty of humus character. There is outstanding mid-palate density to the less obviously mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess good focus and power on the impressively persistent and beautifully complex finale. This possesses a lovely sense of harmony and punch as well as very ripe supporting tannins. (Drink starting 2024). VM 91-94 (1/2014): Good bright, deep red. Red cherry, stony minerals, rose petal and a suggestion of chocolate mint on the nose; reminded me of a slightly earthier version of a Clos Saint-Jacques. Densely packed, saline and intense, with terrific energy and a restrained sweetness to the flavors of red fruits and minerals. A lovely precise, perfumed midweight with a slowly mounting finish offering a strong impression of soil character. Stephen Tanzer. |

| VM 92-94 (1/2014): Layers of blue/purple fruit, violets, spices, menthol and new leather blossom in the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers. Today, the 2012 is expressive and beautiful, with exceptional balance and a total sense of class. The Cazetiers is going to be virtually impossible to resist young, but it also has more than enough depth to develop nicely in bottle for many years. Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 93-95 (12/2020): The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru has an exquisite bouquet of crystalline red berry fruit laced with minerals, wonderfully delineated and focused. The palate is smooth and sensual on the entry, and very cohesive, with a perfect line of acidity. Pure and ravishing, armed with a satin-textured finish, this is going to be very difficult to resist once in bottle. Superb. Neal Martin. |

VM 94-96 (1/2020): The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru has a harmonious, powerful bouquet of layers of red berry fruit laced with crushed stone and pressed rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Hints of wild mint and star anise infuse the finish, which fans out gloriously. This is a step ahead of the Clos-de-Bèze this year. Neal Martin. BH 92-94 (4/2020): A deft touch of wood sets off brooding and deeply pitched aromas of cooler dark currant, violet and a hint of humus. There is excellent power and concentration to the sleek, intense and stony flavors that evidence obvious muscle that really comes up on the palate coating, austere and mineral-suffused finish. This robust effort is even slightly firmer and plenty of patience is recommended. Drink 2035+. |

WA 92-94 (12/2014): The 2013 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has quite a deep and introspective bouquet with broody dark berry fruit, wild hedgerow and forest floor aromas that draw you in. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and well judged acidity. This is linear at the moment, very nicely focused with a dash of white pepper on the finish livening things up. Very fine...but patience required. BH 91-94 (4/2015): Like the Charmes and the Griotte, Barnier said that this was not vinified by Jadot. There is a pretty and expressive nose of red currant, raspberry, wild cherry and soft sauvage hints where the latter continues onto the dense, serious and powerful big-bodied flavors that are also shaped by a very firm and slightly rustic finish that delivers excellent if not truly sensation persistence. I slightly prefer the Chapelle for its greater refinement but it's close qualitatively speaking. Note that this too will require plenty of patience. VM 90-92 (11/2014): Bright medium red. Lightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, licorice, menthol and smoke. Sweet on entry, then rather backward on the palate; has no shortage of salty stuffing but an impression of lowish acidity gives the brooding palate a slightly heavy quality. Tannins are reasonably ripe but this wine is a cipher today. Stephen Tanzer. |

There is very fine volume to the powerful and mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the balanced, long and built-to-age finish. This is potentially terrific and a wine that should age extremely well and note that it's going to need at least 6 to 10 years first. Drink 2034+. |

VM 93+ (4/2008): Good full red. Pure, subdued nose offers subtly perfumed notes of flowers, exotic spices, smoke and earth. Silky, sweet and highly concentrated in the mouth, with superb energy and length. Strong minerality contributes to a juiciness in the mouth and on the aftertaste. Finishes dry, precise and very long, with resounding minerality. BH 91-94 (4/2007): I generally have a slight preference for the Beaux Monts chez Jadot but not in 2005 with the Suchots' more reserved but deeper nose of densely fruit and spice leading to exceptionally concentrated, textured and palate staining flavors that possess a beguiling mouth feel and positively huge length. This is also very Vosne in underlying character with a good deal more power if, as one would expect, somewhat less elegance. A terrific effort and this too should amply repay an extended cellar snooze. WA 90-92 (6/2007): The 2005 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots gives off scents of black currant, raw meat, violets and truffles. Rather spare in texture but clear and concentrated on the palate, with notes of roasted meat and caramelized parsnip welling up as one works it around, this is refined and long with subtle spices and salty minerality meeting the fruit and meat in the finish, although the richness of the Beaux Monts is missing. (I did not taste Jadot’s 2005 from the Petits Monts.) |

| BH 91 (4/2013): Very discreet wood sets off exuberantly spicy aromas of plum, cassis and black raspberry liqueur. There is an ultra-sophisticated mouth feel to the silky-textured medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with so much extract that they culminate in an incredibly suave yet balanced finish that is built to age. There is a very mild touch of backend dryness that is likely due to the bottling and will probably round out in time but it does cause me to score this slightly lower than I otherwise might have. Drink 2022+. Outstanding! |

| VM 89-91 (1/2019): The 2017 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots 1er Cru is cut from a more elegant cloth than usual. The bouquet is nicely defined, offering perfumed dark cherry, cranberry and orange blossom aromas. The palate is crisp and well-defined on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, and quite linear and correct – toward the finish, I begin missing the sensuality and voluptuousness that I expect from this Premier Cru. Hopefully it will gain some weight once in bottle. Neal Martin. |

| VM 94-96 (1/2020): The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet with scents of lemon and orange zest, pralines and crushed stone (somehow it reminds me of lemon drizzle cake!) The palate is fresh and taut on the entry, delivering impressive depth, good salinity in the mouth and a spicy, harmonious finish that lingers. There is a lovely crescendo of intensity in this Grand Cru. Superb. Neal Martin. |

| WA 94-96 (1/2024): The 2022 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is, as usual, one of the high points of the range, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, crisp stone fruit, white flowers, toasted bread, iodine and subtle reduction. Full-bodied, satiny and seamless, it's suave and charming, with a layered, vibrant core of fruit and a long, lively finish. |

| BH 91-94 (6/2019): (from Les Pougets in Aloxe-Corton.) A classic nose of green apple, citrus peel, white fruit and wet stone introduces racy, ultra-intense and almost aggressively mineral-driven flavors that don't quite possess the sheer weight and power of the Montrachet on the still impressively complex and lingering finish. This too is quite firm and will need every bit of 12 to 15 years to reveal its full, and considerable, potential. Drink 2029+. |

| VM 93-95 (1/2020): The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a fresh bouquet of fennel, mint and light hazelnut aromas, all complementing the citrus fruit. The palate is vibrant and fresh on the entry with a fine bead of acidity. Harmonious from start to finish, it delivers an appealing spiciness that leaves the tongue tingling, thanks to a dab of ginger on the aftertaste. Very fine. Neal Martin. |

VM 92-94 (1/2023): The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru comes from a relatively large plot that I feel gives it an advantage this year. It has a fragrant bouquet with peach skin, grilled hazelnut and light orange rind scents that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine weight on the entry. There's plenty of extract here, and a pleasant pithiness comes through toward the finish. This should drink well over the next 20 years. (Drink between 2025-2042). Neal Martin. BH 89-92 (6/2023): There is a touch of lemon zest on the aromas of mostly apple, petrol and white floral wisps. There is once again outstanding density to the more refined if less mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the moderately austere but not especially dry finale that exhibits sneaky good length. This promising if mildly edgy effort should repay mid to even longer-term keeping. (Drink starting 2029). WA 89-91 (1/2023): The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes (Domaine Louis Jadot) reveals aromas of freshly baked bread, citrus oil, white flowers and mint. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with racy acids and an open-knit profile, it concludes with a moderately persistent finish. |

WA 92-94 (1/2022): One of the more reserved wines on the day of my tasting was the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine evocative of citrus zest, struck matches, white flowers and crisp green orchard fruit. Tightly wound but intensely flavored, it concludes with a chalky finish. BH 90-93 (6/2022): This too is quite cool, restrained and airy with its very pretty and ever-so-vaguely exotic aromas of passion fruit, white peach, jasmine tea and a whiff of acacia. The delicious, round and caressing medium weight flavors possess solid punch if only average concentration, all wrapped in an agreeably dry, firm and tightly wound finale. This is lovely though it will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range. (Drink starting 2030). |

| BH 91-94 (6/2022): The hallmark notes of honeysuckle are present on the aromas of apple compote, acacia and vaguely exotic orange and tangerine peel. The nicely sleek, rich and beautifully textured medium weight flavors also possess a highly sophisticated mouthfeel while delivering fine depth and persistence on the tightly wound and built-to-age finale. This lovely effort will likely require at least 5 to 7 years to display enough of its potential to make it worthwhile to open a bottle. Drink 2032+. Outstanding! |
