WA 88-90 (5/2021): Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 La Croix de Gay rocks up with ready-for-business notes of stewed black plums, black cherry compote and freshly crushed blueberries, plus wafts of tar, aniseed and wild sage. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive freshness and bags of black fruits, supported by soft tannins, finishing savory.
JD 87-89 (5/2021): The 2020 Château La Croix De Gay offers an earthy, meaty, herbal style to go with a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, textured style on the palate. It shows more fruit and purity with time in the glass, but this has a serious herbal undertone that stays away from being vegetal or green. It should come together nicely in bottle.
JS 92-93 (4/2021): Aromas of blackberries and orange peel with some flowers. It’s medium-bodied with creamy, tight-grained tannins and a fresh finish. Refined for this vintage. |
