BH 88 (10/2023): There is a background hint of petrol to the cool and pretty aromas of essence of apple, citrus zest and a whiff of crushed fennel. There is outstanding volume and richness to the decidedly punchy middleweight flavors that possess a beguiling texture on the balanced finale. This is a Bourgogne that could be enjoyed young or aged for up to five or so years to good effect. Drink 2026+. |

BH 87 (6/2024): Bright aromas of just sliced citrus, white peach and pretty floral nuances are complemented by delicious middleweight flavors that are supported by lemon-tinged acidity on the vibrant, lingering and refreshing finale. Moreover, this is not your usual 'pop and pour' Bourgogne as it has the legs to repay 4 to 7 years of keeping. Worth checking out. Drink 2027+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 88 (6/2024): ( the bulk of this is from Les Pellans.) A deft application of wood sets off equally bright and fresh aromas of Granny Smith apple and even more prominent citrus elements that are trimmed in pretty floral nuances. There is a bit more volume to the succulent, sappy and vibrant medium weight flavors that possess slightly more depth and persistence. This cuvée consistently boxes above its weight and blind, this could easily pass for a Meursault-villages wine plus, like the Forgets, it will generously reward cellaring. Buy it. Drink 2028+. BH 91 (6/2015): (from Corton-Pougets) This is the first wine to display any appreciable amount of wood and even here it's quite subtle as it easily allows the notably exotic aromas of dried yellow fruit, lychee nut and dried tangerine peel-infused aromas to shine. This is a markedly powerful effort, even by the elevated standards of Corton-Charlemagne, with its dense and muscular big-bodied flavors that terminate in a beautifully complex if mildly edgy and dry finale. As the description suggests the balance isn't perfect but there is so much underlying material that my score offers the benefit of the doubt that this will better harmonize with a few years of bottle age. Drink 2020+. WA 92-94 (12/2014): The 2013 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, which comes from a small parcel in Pougets just below the large trees and sees no new wood, has a delineated bouquet with clear honey and lemon curd scents, the mineral/stony notes lying in wait just behind. The palate is crisp and poised on the entry. The acidity is wonderfully judged and lends real tension to this Corton Charlemagne, while there is a convincing level of energy on the finish. This may actually just pip the 2012 past the post. |

BH 92 (6/2017): (from Pougets in Aloxe.) A more elegant and slightly more complex broad-ranging nose reflects an assortment of green apple, white flower, pear, mineral reduction and a wisp of oak. The overtly rich, full-bodied and powerful flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the moderately firm acid spine shaping the stony and saline-inflected finale. This too will need at least a few years of patience. Drink 2023+. VM 91 (9/2017): Bright light yellow. Aromas of lemon oil, wild herbs, lavender and crushed stone. Broad and floral, showing attractive estery lift and some exotic suggestions to its apple and herb flavors. Doesn't quite come alive on the finish, which shows a trace of alcoholic warmth as well as a faint phenolic edge. Stephen Tanzer. |

BH 88-91 (6/2022): Ripe and appealingly layered aromas of hazelnut, poached pear and lemon confit introduce solidly voluminous and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that are generously proportioned while delivering fine length on the clean and moderately dry finale. Good quality here. Drink 2025+. VM 88-90 (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Clos du Cromin is tightly-wound on the nose and needed coaxing from the glass, light citrus lemon, Golden Delicious and earthy tones gradually unfurl. The palate is well balanced with fine depth, a slightly resinous texture that leads to a pithy, wild peach-tinged finish. Give this just a year in bottle. Neal Martin. |

BH 90 (6/2024): Aromas of hazelnut, orange peel and acacia blossom introduce rich, concentrated and caressing medium-bodied flavors that possess a highly seductive texture while displaying excellent length on the balanced, firm and utterly delicious finale. This could use better depth though so at least a few years of keeping are recommended. Worth considering. Drink 2029+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 91 (6/2022): (the name is a play on words as this is a .60 ha blend of two vineyards, Les Clous and Crotots.) There is a vague whiff of the exotic to the ripe, fresh and pretty aromas of roasted nut, mineral reduction, white peach and tangerine peel. There is superb intensity and cut to the dense and tautly muscular medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere and impressively persistent and distinctly lemony finish. This is terrific for its level and recommended. Drink 2026+. Outstanding Top Value! VM 91 (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Les Clousots has a touch more definition and intensity on the nose compared to the Tillets, very elegant with hints of yellow flower and nectarine. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, good weight and concentration with tropical notes of pineapple and white peach towards the smooth finish. Quite seductive. Neal Martin. |

BH 93 (6/2024): (the name is a play on words as this is a .60 ha blend of two vineyards, Les Clous and Crotots.) A restrained, airy and distinctly cool nose somewhat grudgingly offers up its array of just sliced apple, pear, lemon rind and acacia. There is terrific mid-palate density to the equally mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess solid power on the sappy, refreshingly dry and sappy finale. This stunningly good Meursault-villages is very much built to repay extended keeping and is definitely a wine to strongly consider. Drink 2032+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! |

BH 90 (6/2022): A cool, pure and restrained nose reflects airy and elegant notes of acacia, green apple, anise and a whiff of citrus rind. There is a beguiling sense of underlying tension to the detailed and mineral-inflected flavors that culminate in an attractively dry, clean and lingering finale. This is fine Meursault villages with the innate finesse of Tillets on display. Drink 2026+. Outstanding Top Value! VM 90 (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Les Tillets has a light white flower and linen scented nose, quite Zen-like at first but gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with a touch of spice on the finish. Very fine, though maybe it just needs a little more mineralité. Neal Martin. |

BH 92 (10/2023): Here the restrained and even cooler and more elegant nose somewhat grudgingly offers up its aromas of Granny Smith apples, mineral reduction and a broad array of citrus elements. The concentrated yet beautifully refined middleweight flavors brim with minerality on the youthfully austere and gorgeously textured built-to-age finale. This is also terrific and highly recommended. BH 92 (6/2024): A more elegant and spicier nose features aromas of wet stone, lemon-lime, plenty of floral elements and the barest hint of wood. The racy, beautifully detailed and refined middleweight flavors exude a borderline pungent minerality on the impressively long bitter zest-inflected finish. This is a classic, and entirely superb, Tillets of delicacy and restraint. Drink 2030+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 92 (6/2022): ( from a .62 ha combination of Au Murger de Monthélie and Les Casse-Têtes.) A more floral-suffused nose features very bright and fresh aromas of Granny Smith apples, essence of pear and a variety of citrus influences. There is again excellent volume and richness along with even more apparent minerality on the complex and beautifully persistent finale that flashes focused power. This too offers first-rate quality for a villages-level wine. Drink 2027+. Outstanding Top Value! VM 91+ (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Cuvée Tête de Murger has a well-defined nose, although I was expecting a little more presence and energy compared to previous vintages that I have tasted over the years. The palate is well balanced and shows more gumption, fine acidity with a touch of ginger, well-defined with red apple, nectarine and orange pith on the finish. Just give it some time for the aromatics to open. Neal Martin. |
