Today at Flickinger Wines we would like to showcase our current collection of white and red wines from the California producer – Aubert. Napa Valley native and respected vintner Mark Aubert has become a leading figure in California expression of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. While the iconic Chardonnays first brought the winery to prominence, they also make beautiful Pinot Noirs worth exploring. The small, yet highly-acclaimed estate has earned a reputation for their exquisite single vineyard expressions of these styles, cultivating a cult-like following since its founding in 1999. Inspired by the immense greatness of Burgundian wines, Aubert established his eponymous winery with the ambition to create wines that could rival the world's finest. The wines quickly garnered acclaim for their full-bodied, opulent character—a style that has become synonymous with the Aubert name. With limited production primarily allocated to select restaurants and a dedicated mailing list, Aubert wines are highly sought-after styles for their exclusivity and their stylistic allure. In addition to consulting for cult Napa wineries such as Bryant, Sloan, and Futo, Mark Aubert received mentorship from the illustrious Helen Turley before succeeding her as winemaker at both Peter Michael and Colgin. This experience not only helped Aubert refine his craft in the production process but also in his development of select sites for sourcing fruit. Today, Aubert Wines sources from a carefully curated selection of premium vineyards throughout Sonoma and Napa, with the estate's portfolio including three premier single-vineyard Pinot Noir wines that showcase the distinctive terroir of the Sonoma Coast.

	VM 95 (11/2025): The 2023 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard comes across as a bit reticent today. Medium in body and very aromatic, the 2023 is still coming out of its shell. Apricot, honey, dried white flowers, marzipan, crushed rocks and hazelnut emerge with a bit of coaxing. Time in the glass softens the contours nicely. (Drink between 2026-2035). Antonio Galloni.

	WA 96 (7/2024): From a densely planted (2,044 vines per acre with spacing of 3.5 feet x six feet) property adjacent to the Lauren site, Aubert's 2022 Chardonnay Park Avenue offers up gentle notes of toasted hazelnut, brioche and almond, plus lime, pear and melon. It's full-bodied, with waves of upfront fruit and generous on the mid-palate, then crisp and focused on the lingering finish.   VM 94 (1/2024): The 2022 Chardonnay Park Avenue is laced with hints of orange confit, passion fruit and jasmine. This is one of the more exotic Chardonnays in the range, especially aromatically. The 2022 is a bit less generous on the palate, but that should come with time. (Drink between 2025-2032).
