| WS 90-93 (4/2017): Really vivid raspberry and boysenberry confiture notes stream through, flecked with anise and singed apple wood flavors. Nice explosion of spice through the finish. |

JD 91 (3/2021): Showing nicely, the 2018 Château La Croix De Gay offers a rich, nicely concentrated, textured style as well as notable purity in its smoky black fruits, charcuteries, spice, dried herbs, and cedary aromas and flavors. It packs plenty of richness on the mid-palate, has ripe yet present tannins, subtle background oak, and outstanding length on the finish. It's impressive but needs 3-4 years at a minimum in the cellar and will cruise for 10-15 years. (Drink between 2024-2039).
WA 89 (3/2021): Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Croix de Gay is still wearing a bit of its oak, opening with cedar and clove notes before giving way to a core of boysenberries, stewed black cherries and baked plums with touches of bouquet garni and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate offers soft acidity and a light chewiness to match the understated black fruit preserves flavors, finishing earthy. Drink between 2022-2036.
VM 87 (3/2021): The 2018 La Croix de Gay is a bold, hearty wine. Dark red fruit, iron, dried herbs, licorice, earthiness and gravel, along with firm tannins, add to the wine's rustic personality. Drink it over the next decade or so. (Drink between 2021-2030). Antonio Galloni. |

JD 89 (4/2022): The Merlot-dominated (there's 3% Cabernet Franc) 2019 Château La Croix De Gay has an incredibly floral, almost exotic bouquet that includes plenty of spiced red and black cherry fruits, notes of sappy herbs, iron, and chocolate, medium-bodied richness, soft tannins, and a juicy, elegant profile geared for drinking over the coming decade. (Drink between 2022-2032).
WA 88 (4/2022): The 2019 La Croix de Gay opens in the glass with rich aromas of plummy fruit, orange rind, toasty new oak and spices. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with rather chewy tannins and a somewhat rustic profile, it will likely round out with a little bottle age. Drink between 2023-2039.
VM 86 (2/2023): The 2019 La Croix de Gay is rather muddled on the nose and comes across rather Bretty. The palate is hard on the entry with graphite and seaweed notes, but it feels just a bit dry and mealy towards the finish. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. (Drink between 2024-2030).
