JD 99 (6/2020): A killer effort, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter offers that rare, magical mix of opulence, power, elegant, and freshness that you rarely come across, offering a kaleidoscope-like array of crème de cassis, toasted spice, dried violets, blackberries, smoked tobacco, and a distinct sense of minerality. VM 96 (1/2021): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter is a selection of the best barrels in the cellar. Powerful and yet effusive, the 2018 offers a striking interplay of fruit and soaring floral/spiced aromatics. Raspberry jam, mint, spice, new leather and mocha come together in this sumptuous Cabernet Sauvignon from Mark Carter and winemaker Mike Smith. (Drink between 2024-2038). Antonio Galloni. WA 94 (11/2020): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter delivers beguiling scents of black raspberries, redcurrant jelly, fresh blackcurrants and Morello cherries with touches of sautéed herbs, cloves, tobacco leaf and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm, grainy texture and lots of savory nuances intermingled with the crunchy black fruits, finishing with an herbal lift. |

JD 98 (5/2023): Another killer wine, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La BAM sports a dense purple hue as well as mineral-driven aromatics of black fruits, graphite, liquid violets, and crushed stone. It's full-bodied and has flawless balance, fine-grained tannins, and a stunning finish. This has closed up slightly since release, and while it clearly offers pleasure today, it's going to benefit from another 3-5 years of bottle age. (Drink starting 2026). VM 95 (1/2021): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Bam marries the natural power of this site with rich, dense fruit that nearly buries the tannins. Macerated red cherry, cinnamon, leather, spice and rose petal build in a bold, sumptuous Cabernet endowed with terrific persistence and tons of underlying structure. La Bam shows the more sensual, curvy side of the year. (Drink between 2024-2038). Antonio Galloni. WA 95 (11/2020): The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Bam is a little closed and broody to begin, slowly opening to offer glimpses at earthy notes of tar, tilled soil and black truffles over a core of crème de cassis, cast-iron pan, baked blackberries, sautéed herbs and fruitcake plus a touch of espresso. Full-bodied, the palate has a rugged frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness supporting the concentrated, muscular fruit, finishing long and savory. |

La Verdad Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vyd. Cabernet Sauvignon |

JD 97+ (5/2023): Similar to when it was released, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad is loaded with ripe blue fruits, chocolate, violets, spice, and camphor notes, and it picks up a bloody, iron-like nuance with time in the glass. With full-bodied richness and a ripe, powerful, yet structured mouthfeel, it shows the purity, focus, and precision of the 2018 vintage while still bringing gorgeous depth and richness. As always, this is slightly more structured and inward compared to the more extroverted La BAM release. Give it 3-4 years, and it will evolve for 30 years or more. (Drink between 2026-2057). WA 96+ (11/2020): Sporting a deep garnet-purple color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad gives up compelling notes of fresh black and red currants, ripe black plums, wild blueberries and cedar chest with wafts of oolong tea, charcoal and Indian spices plus a fragrant suggestion of lavender. The densely laden, full-bodied palate is jam-packed with black and blue fruit preserves, featuring a firm, grainy-textured backbone and just enough freshness, finishing long and perfumed. VM 94+ (1/2021): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad is a powerhouse. Huge tannins wrap around a core of blackberry jam, spice, chocolate, espresso, menthol and licorice in a brooding, dark wine endowed with tremendous concentration and intensity and the searing tannins to match. (Drink between 2024-2038). Antonio Galloni. |

WA 94 (10/2014): The sensational 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. boasts classic notes of crème de cassis, licorice, incense and a whiff of new oak. Full-bodied with ripe tannin, adequate acidity and beautiful exuberance and personality, it should be drunk over the next 10-15 years. VM 93 (12/2014): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. is the most delicate, layered and silky of Mark Carter's three Cabernets from Andy Beckstoffer's To-Kalon vineyard. Floral, lifted and precise, the O.G. captures the essence of Clone 337 in its silky fruit and open, caressing personality. All the elements are very nicely balanced. Antonio Galloni. |

| WA 95-98 (12/2015): The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. is another killer for Carter in this vintage. It might be just below the profound concentration and depth of the 2013, but this is certainly going to be an upper-90-point wine when released. Amazing cassis, blackberry and floral notes followed by a full-bodied, velvety textured, super-rich and concentrated wine that is a stunner. This is first-growth quality that is unreal. It should drink well for 20 years, even in a more precocious vintage like 2014. |

Three Kings Beckstoffer To Kalon Vyd. Cabernet Sauvignon |

| VM 92 (12/2014): Super-ripe dark fruit, menthol, smoke, spices and leather are all laced together in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon The Three Kings. Rich, succulent and perfumed to the core, the 2012 possesses gorgeous depth, persistence and voluptuousness. The Three Kings is pure Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, so not surprisingly this is an ample, broad-shouldered wine. Antonio Galloni. |
