| WA 93 (1/2020): Caparzo is one of two properties in Montalcino owned by the beautiful and charming Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini. The other property is Altesino. This wine, the Caparzo 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is a very classic interpretation that delivers the goods without any distracting bells or whistles. The wine opens to red and purple fruit aromas with background tones of dried herb, potting soil, cedar wood and light spice. Fruit comes from a site with heavier clay soils, and you get hints of that extra density and richness here. This vintage offers all you need in a model Brunello from a very beautiful and generous vintage. I always admire the wines of Caparzo for their accessible and immediate drinking style. |

| JS 94 (10/2020): Plum, ripe-berry and floral aromas with hints of sandalwood and fresh mushrooms. It’s full-bodied with firm, ripe tannins and a fresh, crushed-stone finish. A little timid now. Give it another two or three years. Try after 2023. |

| WA 95 (2/2015): Caparzo's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna la Casa opens to dark intensity with blackish-garnet undertones. The wine exhibits muscle and power with a large array of aromatic qualities that include dried cherry, spice, leather, tobacco, licorice and tar. It aspires to high complexity and intensity and it delivers on that promise. In the mouth, it shows beautifully tame tannins and a silky texture. Brunello Vigna la Casa lasts many long minutes on the palate. The wine should hold steadily over the next 15 years. |

JD 95 (2/2024): Ripe and inviting, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna La Casa pours a deep ruby/red color and reveals intertwining notes of kirsch, fresh leather, dried roses, and sweet Mediterranean herbs. It’s elegant and full-bodied, with ripe tannins, a plush texture, and wonderful length that floats away gently. It’s a very attractive wine with a weightless feel and has an open window for enjoyment over the coming 10-12 years. WA 95 (12/2023): The Caparzo 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa offers a balanced presentation of candied cherry, dried fruit and toasted spice. This is a lovely and joyous wine with velvety soft tannins and good inner energy that adds dimension and depth to the mouthfeel. Vigna La Casa is a contemporary expression from Montalcino with extra fruit concentration and structure, and the results are carefully balanced throughout. Some 14,000 bottles were made. |
