VM 91 (2/2018): The 2015 Echo de Lynch Bages has grown into a gorgeous second wine. Pliant, supple and inviting, the 2015 is very nicely framed by silky tannins that add considerable appeal and early approachability. There is striking purity to the red cherry and plum fruit, while lifted, floral aromatics contribute brightness. Echo is in one of the most complete, alluring second wines I tasted in 2015. Today, it is flat out delicious. Antonio Galloni. |

JS 93 (12/2019): A juicy red with plums and currants and hints of fresh herbs. Medium body. Lightly velvety with pretty fruit character at the end. A blend of 74% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot and 2% cabernet franc. Second wine of Château Lynch-Bages. Drink now or hold. JD 91 (2/2020): The 2017 Echo De Lynch-Bages offers a juicy, yet classic Cabernet Sauvignon bouquet of creme de cassis, graphite, spring flowers, sappy herbs, and hints of cedary and earth. Medium-bodied, elegant, beautifully balanced, and with fine tannins, it's ideal for drinking over the coming 10-15 years. VM 90 (3/2020): The 2017 Echo de Lynch Bages is soft, open-knit and easygoing. A rush of sweet red cherry and red plum fruit gives the 2017 its open-knit, distinctive personality. Perhaps it is a bit less expressive than it can be in top vintages, but the balance here is impeccable. Pretty floral and spice notes add an attractive element of suaveness to this lush, supple wine. Antonio Galloni. WS 89 (3/2020): Fresh and racy in feel, featuring cassis and bitter cherry fruit, flecked with savory and bay leaf hints. A graphite accent grounds the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2026. |

VM 90 (2/2022): The 2019 Echo de Lynch-Bages, matured in one-year-old barrels for 12 months, has a crisp blackberry, briar and cedar bouquet with touches of mint, quite vibrant and lively. The medium-bodied palate offers succulent tannins and mulberry and black plum flavors intermingling with black truffle and white pepper. Maybe just a little abrupt on the finish at the moment, but that will fill out in time. NEal Martin. |

WA 87-89 (5/2021): The 2020 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, aging for around 12 months in one-year-old French oak barriques. It has an alcohol of 13.03%, a pH of 3.78 and an IPT (tannin index) of 80. Deep garnet-purple in color, it rolls out of the glass with expressive, upfront notes of baked black and red cherries, plum preserves and blackcurrant cordial, followed by hints of new leather, tobacco leaf and a medicinal waft. The medium-bodied palate is chock-full of savory flavors, with a chewy texture and just enough freshness, finishing a little rustic. VM 90-92 (5/2021): The 2020 Echo de Lynch-Bages is gentle and harmonious on the nose, not powerful but quite seductive thanks to its pure red currant and wild strawberry fruit; boysenberry jam emerges with time (meaning a couple of hours). The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, grippier than the nose suggests. An underlying saline element lends freshness on a firm finish that does not outstay its welcome, but encourages another sip. This is a fine Deuxième Vin. Neal Martin JD 92-94 (5/2021): Offering classic Pauillac notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, violets, and lead pencil, the 2020 Echo De Lynch Bages is a big, rich, nicely concentrated wine that shows the fresh yet powerful style of the vintage beautifully. It's a terrific second wine, yet one that's going to benefit from a few years of bottle age. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. JS 95-96 (4/2021): Intense graphite and violet character with lead pencil. It’s full and firm with chewy and balanced tannins. Iodine coming through. So intense. Super second wine. Like the grand vin of Lynch from the 1980s. 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot. |
