WS 88 (11/1998): Little if any botrytis here, but the apple, honey and mineral aromas and flavors show very good concentration and length. Drink now through 2001. |

2004 |
Pouilly Fume Buisson Renard Nicked Label |
$199 |

WS 95 (10/2006): Gorgeous, with acacia and honeysuckle flower aromas followed by green almond, grapefruit, lime and straw notes that cascade over one another on the finish, where a hint of macadamia nut lingers. Wonderful precision and balance. Best from 2007 through 2011. 1,250 cases made. |

2006 |
Pouilly Fume Pur Sang |
$229 |

WS 92 (12/2009): Soft up front, with lemon curd and verbena notes backed by honeysuckle, sweetened butter and mineral. Gains more cut on the finish, but stays creamy and enticing. Drink now through 2012. |
2004 |
Pouilly Fume Silex |
$375 |

WS 96 (10/2006): Cuts like a knife, with live-wire Key lime, grapefruit, chalk and sea salt notes. Rich and powerful, but very nervy through the long, mouthwatering, collar-grabbing finish. Almost severe now in its minerality, but just wait. Best from 2007 through 2011. 2,000 cases made. |

WA 93 (8/1999): The gold and amber colored 1997 Coteaux du Layon St.-Lambert Clos des Bonnes Blanches' nose is a cross between caramel and molasses. On the palate, this unctuous syrup is crammed with assorted jams (cherry, apricot, peach) and mocha. It is full-bodied, dense, and heavy. Anticipated maturity: now-2005. |

WA 91 (8/2007): With complex and idiosyncratic aromas of blood orange, candied grapefruit rind, quince preserves, white truffle, smoked meat, and fish oil, the 1989 Coteaux du Layon reveals in the mouth that pure, almost delicate character which the best of shriveled fruits from this hot vintage could produce. Waxy in texture, and tasting of butterscotch, honey, cinnamon, and candied mint and citrus, it finishes with flattering delicacy. |

WS 92 (3/2008): An alluring whiff of ginger brioche gives way to a restrained palate of mineral, humus, persimmon and clementine. Taut, nervy finish will need some time to open up fully. Best from 2010 through 2020. 350 cases imported. |

WS 96 (9/2005): This has a very powerful, concentrated core of almond, white peach, honeysuckle, mineral and candied lemon peel, but all is meshed perfectly together on a creamy, porcelain texture and glides effortlessly through the finish. Extremely long and finely detailed. A worthy rival to the slightly purer '02. Best from 2007 through 2030. 1,250 cases made. |
