WA 97+ (8/2023): The Ceretto 2019 Barolo Bricco Rocche is made with organic fruit from Castiglione Falletto, one of the villages that performs best, generally speaking, and specifically in this classic vintage. The bouquet is layered and rich with ripe cherry and crème de cassis. There are savory tones of iron ore and grilled herb. It offers a silky mouthfeel with elegant mineral nuances. Overall, this wine shows impeccable precision and beautiful definition. This is one for your cellar.
VM 96 (1/2023): The 2019 Barolo Bricco Rocche is fabulous, and also one of the best wines I have tasted in more than 20 years of visiting. Soaring aromatics and bright, layered fruit all meld together in a Barolo of uncommon elegance. Dried flowers, spice, tobacco and cedar are all wonderfully alive in the glass. This potent, virile Barolo is simply lights out. Elegance and power are rarely well integrated in a young Barolo. The 2019 is a wine of real breadth and resonance. Superb. Antonio Galloni. |

VM 96+ (1/2014): The 2010 Barolo Prapò is one of the most beautiful young Barolos I have tasted from Ceretto in a long time. Deep, layered and beautifully expressive, yet also mysterious, the 2010 exudes class and that warm, Serralunga resonance that is unique to the Barolos of the village. Sage, roasted coffee beans, licorice and new leather are some of the notes that emerge over time, all framed by firm, muscular tannins that suggest a long life lies ahead. Today, the 2010 Prapò is majestic. It also has plenty of room to grow from here.
VM 91+ (12/2013): (this is Ceretto's highest Barolo vineyard, at 310 meters): Good medium red. Strawberry, mocha and truffley underbrush on the nose, complicated by flinty minerality. Less floral and scented than the Brunate but ripe and firm in the mouth, with raspberry and smoke flavors complicated by sexy earth tones. Finishes with substantial tongue-coating, ripe tannins. |
