Thursday, May 13, 2021   Christophe Baron
Today we would like to feature the wines of Christophe Baron. We are fortunate to have deep options from all three of his critically acclaimed Washington wineries. It was the acres of stones that impressed him in Walla Walla, he had planned to purchase land in Willamette and try his hand at Pinot Noir. He could not get those stones out of his mind, and on a fateful trip in 1997 he set out to model the southern Rhone valley and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Creating Cayuse with a deep focus on site specific Rhone-varietals. His next venture started as a side-project with his Cayuse general manager, Trevor Dorlan, No Girls is a lesson in wines from the La Paciencia vineyard. Horsepower is yet another Walla Walla winery that continues a focus on Rhone varietals, but here a nod to history with only featuring vineyards that are tilled by horse-drawn plows. Take a moment to peruse this list and add some of these great wines to your cellar.

Wednesday, May 5, 2021   Schrader - In Stock
Flickinger Wines has a remarkable selection in-stock of superstar Napa producer Schrader Cellars. Since the first vintage in the early 2000's, these wines quickly became a source for some of the Napa Valley's greatest wines. Focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon, Schrader makes numerous cuvées from the great Beckstoffer Vineyards - To-Kalon, George III, Dr. Crane and Las Piedras. Productions levels are quite small, with total production usually less than 1,800 cases. The wines are always big, forward and lush, and generally will drink well early (and age well for many years in top vintages). Flickinger Wines has deep verticals from across the Schrader range, dating back to the ready to drink 2006s up through the current 2018s. Take advantage of this offer and add these Napa greats to your cellar today - cheers!

Margaux is the warmest of the major appellation in the Left Bank, thus is almost always the first to harvest. Highlights include the 1989 Chateau Margaux, 2015 Giscours, 2015 Palmer and the 2010 Rauzan-Segla. Take some time to peruse and add some of these superb wines to your collection. Happy Hunting!

Friday, April 30, 2021   Giant Ridge Selection!
Long known as the winery that helped put California wines on serious oenophiles' radar, today Ridge Vineyards continues to produce fresh, exciting wines that delight the palate. The greatness of Ridge wines begins with their historic vines and Ridge's dedication to creating great site-specific wines; former CEO and head winemaker Paul Draper and his team took great care in acquiring a splendid collection of vineyards, including an array of pre-Prohibition zinfandel vines, but the iconic Monte Bello vineyard is the jewel in their crown. Situated at altitude above Silicon Valley, there are few vineyards anywhere in the world that match Monte Bello for singularity in terms of what is, for Cabernet, such a marginal growing climate, and this results in wines that have an individual character and freshness that you simply cannot find anywhere else - especially in California. This commitment to providing the utmost attention and care in creating beautiful wines continues in the cellar. Ridge describes their approach to winemaking as "pre-industrial;" their belief is that modern additives and invasive processing do not allow the true character of the vineyard to shine through and limits the character and quality of the wine. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented with naturally-occurring yeasts found in the vineyard, instead of commercial yeast strains. Malolactic fermentation is allowed to occur naturally, and wine clarity is achieved through careful settling and racking. All winemaking decisions, including blending, are based on tastings throughout the process instead of a fixed recipe. The results of this attentive and thorough process are nothing short of stunning examples of terroir specific wines. Each wine is an individual expression of rich fruit, perfect balance and exhilarating freshness. If you like exploring the different nuances a terroir imparts on wine, these are the wines for you! Without a doubt, the elegant, extraordinary wines of Ridge Vineyards a
